The Tindie 433MHz transmitter/receiver kit is the best and most reliable one I've found. Previously I tried to use some similar components sold by other vendors, but the quality of those kits was terrible and many failed to work at all.

In contrast, the Tindie kits are better assembled and have worked well. The kit comes with a transmitter and receiver pair, both assembled on mini PCBs. Included is a coiled 1/4-wave antenna for each that helps increase the communication range.

Note: I've used about a dozen of these, all working very reliably. However, I did have a problem with one of the transmitter boards (apparently, it had a bad capacitor.) But after reporting this to the vendor, they sent a replacement kit immediately. So, a great product comes with great customer service -- the mark of a quality business. I give them my highest rating!

I wanted a device so I could graph my pulse to show my doctor at the next appointment. They have taken an EKG but that was in the office. Some people have the white coat syndrome and that can affect readings in the doctors office.
This device allowed me to scope both the analog pulse and a digital pulse. The analog signal shows amplitude and a nice pulse. The digital signal shows irregular pulse better than the analog pulse. I put both signals on a dual trace scope so the relationship is very clear. A picture is then printed to take to the doctor.

Pretty damn elegant circuit

After unpacking the module I was able to get it up and running in a few minutes. At first I maintained it at factory settings and with a 4.5 Volt supply it behaved excellently. I Redesigned the PCB to a flexible SMD one for my application. I think the circuit is a pretty damn elegant example of good and esthetic design. I am impressed! My next step is to get a 20mm LCD screen to display, numerically, the pulse rate. I was able to get a digital output at 3 volt supply of three 1.5 V AA cells, but the current draw ~15mA was too much for a CR2032 cell and although it worked at first the circuit only worked for about an hour. I am thinking of powering he circuit with a LiPo 3.7 V rechargeable battery.

Solid product, does what it's supposed to do.

For EasyESP-1: A rapid development board for ESP8266

The board got here quickly. It's just a bit pricey, but you get a lot so I think it's fair. It all just works. I built a weather station with it in just a few minutes.

It's really handy to have both Grove and breadboard/headers. Makes it easy to hack together a circuit quickly with what you have on hand.

Liked it so much, I bought a 2nd one to have around.

Works great!

For Easy Pulse Plugin: An Arduino pulse sensor

Works really well. The plastic holder holds well on the finger which makes all the difference in the data output from having only the light sensor.

Just bought this and am using it with an Arduino. Works great! Use the "Virtual Wire" library that Arduino provides and it is really really easy to use.

Good design, but inconsistent manufacturing

I bought two units and while trying to bring up the first one I noticed that it was not functional. Visually comparing the two units, I quickly found that the 2N3904 transistor was missing on the non-functional unit. Upon soldering the right part on the board, full functionality was achieved. Documentation could be a bit more detailed in terms of schematics and layout.
As a product, it would have certainly received 5 starts if it wouldn't waste me almost an hour to find the problem, get the part, solder on PCB, and retest.

The product works great

For Serial 8-digit 7-segment LED display (Green,0.56")

This worked great. Though I blew up one connecting it to 5v line instead of 3.3v. It is not listed in the doc what the voltage of VCC should be.

In case any one needs to know it is 3.3v.

It works safely at both 5V and 3.3V. If you blew up one, the reason might be something different.

Nice pcb, but now requires surface mounted caps & resistors

For PCB for serial 7 segment LED display

The product works extremely well. However, it appears there was a design change for surface mounted capacitors and resistors and not for discrete parts that fit through holes. This makes it difficult and ugly for hand soldering parts. The photograph shows the previous design with conventional parts mounting.

Flat out awesome, great support

I bought 5 displays and absolutely love them. They're very easy to use and look great. The seller was great to work with and supremely helpful in resolving issues. One of my displays was mounted at a slight angle and he fixed it for me. I also requested one of the dual-row displays in a color which wasn't listed and he was happy to accommodate. The only negative thing I have to say is that the double row display is a slightly different color than the rest due to lot differences in the display modules — not something that will impact most orders, but something to be aware of if you are ordering custom items.

I added an external "threshold" potentiometer in parallel with the on-board potentiometer, so I could have the entire board enclosed and a large knob to set the cutoff.

One problem, though: the fingertip sensor makes my fingertip go numb after 10 minutes. I am running experiments which can last up to an hour, and for which I need both hands, so I need a sensor which can (for example) be attached with a velcro strap around the wrist. Is there a way to use the TCRT1000 reflective optical sensor, which is used in version 1 of the board? Do I need to get that version of the board in order to use the reflective sensor?

Great for prototyping

Easy

I agree with Greg. With LedControl library I got it running in first try.
I am using this display in my heater_control project. I read several temperatures and alternate them in upper row. Electricity consumption, date and time are alternating in lower row. My project is still ongoing, it will have more measured streams while I proceed.

The breakout pins make it very easy to integrate

For Si7005 temperature, humidity sensor breakout board

I previously bought the Si7005 without the breakout board from another seller, not realizing how tiny the through holes were. I ended up burning the sensor and lifting the pads, trying to solder it. It was a complete waste of money and time.

The fact that this sensor is on a breakout board makes it so much easier to integrate. For the doc however, you'll have to look elsewhere as the seller doesn't provide any.

I'm now trying to understand why when reading any address in the sensor I am only getting 0x00 back.
