V1.1 is the same is V1.0, but with a white solder mask, updated silkscreen, and a footprint changes for ease of assembly. Drivers and all functions are the same as the previous model with black solder mask.

What is it?

This product, when plugged into your computer, will enumerate as two virtual com ports with only one USB cable! These ports can be used to send serial data to and from 5V and 3.3V electronics. Also, this device is extremely useful for doing loop back testing for development of desktop applications.

This product uses the same Silabs drivers as the popular CP2101,2,3...

This is a great alternative to FTDI based products!

Why did you make it?

This product was developed as an aid for my own debugging and development purposes. This product allowed me to use one port to program a microcontroller and have a spare serial port to communicate with other peripherals all in one compact package. This product is great for monitoring more than one UART on a microcontroller. For instance, it is possible to have a serial debug/ programming port and a separate port to deliver commands.

What makes it special?

This device is special because it is a dual serial converter which only needs one USB cable. Other devices such as the FT232 only create one virtual com port. Also, this product has a solder jumper which can be used to set the signal voltage levels between 3.3V and 5V making it compatible with 5V devices such as Arduino, or 3.3V devices such as Raspi and BeagleBone.

Also, this device has optional ESD protection on all ports and power connections, so it is more electrically robust than other available solutions.
