This product is an ultra small, high efficiency 5V power regulator based on TI's TPS61202. It is designed to supply 5V at 600mA from a source ranging from 3VDC to 5.5VDC. The uA quiescent current and low input voltage make this device ideal for powering 5V devices from a single lithium cell!
This product was designed to supply power to low power embedded systems from low voltage sources such as single cell lithium batteries. The narrow ultra small form factor allows the user to incorporate the regulator inline with a power cable, therefore relieving the need to change your project's circuit board or enclosure to add battery operation. Similarly, the .1" headers make it very easy to directly plug the board into 5V applications such as Arduino.
Several things make this product stand out.
High Efficiency (up to 90%)
Low Quiescent Current in micro amp range
Optional Protective shrink-wrap outer cover
Ultra small. Just .75"X.3" circuit board
Can be plugged directly into 5V devices such as Arduino or incorporated inline with power cable
-Much less expensive than comparable solutions!
