Its a "control panel" for your modular power supply. It gives you an on/off button, indicators for +12V, -12V and +5V, a USB power socket, so you can power your USB gadgets from within the rack, and finally an IDC (Eurorack connector) 16 pin on the front so testing modules or power modules outside of the case is possible and even easy.
You can find the build video on this link: https://youtu.be/fqp602L9OBc
4 reasons: 1. I wanted the possibility to turn on/off my modular from the front panel. So the on/off switch makes it possible to turn my modular on/off row by row. 2. I also make a lot of DIY modules and often need a eurorack power cable on the front to just test a module before committing it to the rack. So adding a front facing eurorack power plug was a good idea to fix that. 3. And I also often want to incorporate a USB-powered device in my modular and with a USB power plug on the front this is also much easier. 4. Finally some modules makes the power supply act funny, especially at startup, so having LEDs showing the state of the power rails is a good way to make sure everything is up and running.
