I also bought one and I am having the same issues it won't thread properly on the hose and it leaks. As you start to thread it will thread crooked and it won't seat to stop the leaking. The plastic is not strong enough to support the steel coupling from the hose ,and the unite split open on the top thread .

Darrell, I am sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you. It sounds like you managed to crossthread your adapter. This has happened to a couple of other folks.

I have tried to crossthread an adapter on purpose. It is challenging to do, but definitely doable. If you do manage to misalign the threads and screw the adapter on anyway, I am certain you can tear out the plastic threads. They're definitely not meant to stand up to that.
