The best hub with knobs you can buy!

For Hub16 - Programmable Macro Keyboard

What's the title says. Knobs are the future for keyboards. Josh and his community on discord are very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend hub16 and hub20 if you're up to programmatically southpaw hub.

Really cool device and a great creator

For Hub16 - Programmable Macro Keyboard

I love my Hub16 so much its probably not healthy, and I'm not a 'keyboard guy' normally. This was actually my first mechanical keyboard.
The kit is very well made and super easy to put together ... almost too easy. I had some simple questions because I didn't really know anything about keyboards and Josh was super helpful. He went out of his way to point me where to buy parts and the terminology used.
Now I want a full keyboard of course which isn't great but that isn't Josh's fault he just made a cool device.
If Josh makes anything else I would be have no hesitation. Do yourself a favour and get one.

Works perfectly and is a neat little gizmo to test your soldering skills on. Had a few questions after and the seller was super prompt and friendly. Really couldn't recommend it more, a good bit of fun, something functional afterwards, and supporting a great guy.

Great kit

For Hub20 - Programmable Macro Numberpad

The maker is super helpful if you have any questions and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. The assembly was a breeze. The encoders feel nice and have a pleasant detente. It would be nice if it was easier to configure the encoders but that is a limitation of VIA and not with this device. They are still configurable though which is nice. The encoder knobs have a knurled metal shell that is also pleasant to use.

The only improvement I could ask for is a usb3.0 hub or 3.1 hub instead of usb 2.0.

Great Macro Pad and Great Customer Service

For Hub16 - Programmable Macro Keyboard

This macro pad is great! It came with everything I needed and was packaged very nicely. Shipping was pretty good considering COVID and shipping to the USA. Assembly was simple. It took about 15 minutes, give or take a few, and instructions were straight forward and easy to understand. This would be a great first project.

I initially had a problem with the bottom right key not triggering properly which Josh let me know was caused by the layer change for the LED colors and patterns etc. His response was quick and had sent me a custom hex file to accommodate my needs.

The macro pad works excellently and is already implemented in my workflow/videogames. I use this in Microsoft flight simulator which the rotary encoders come in handy. Using AutoHotkey to program takes about an hour to understand the basics but I assume it gets even more advanced from there which is awesome. Even with a basic understanding of AutoHotkey, you can achieve a lot. The USB-C hub works great and gets rid of my cable clutter and makes my sd card reader much closer to me rather than down below on my tower. The rotary encoders have a nice feel and a great click. The LEDs give a nice accent and have a ton of patterns and colors.

Overall this product is great and probably the best macro pad out there and definitely worth the price. The functionality of this macro pad with AHK makes it an insane workhorse and great for gaming!

Great keypad, great instructions, great firmware

This keypad was easy to solder and assemble, and the instructions included a ton of pictures which made it very easy. The qmk firmware is great; I configured every key and rebuilt the firmware quickly and easily. Very fun kit!

For Hub16 - Programmable Macro Keyboard

AUS Post lost my first package, so Josh sent the upgraded acrylic model at no extra cost to me. He was also very communicative and understanding throughout.

The Hub16 is just.. beyond useful. I've set my encoders to zoom and horizontal scrolling, and they're extremely satisfying to use. His update to include VIA support is just phenomenal.

I feel like I'm preaching to the choir here, since we're all already on Tindie, but.. We have to put our money where our mouths are, and support makers like this.

Great product and great support

For Hub16 - Programmable Macro Keyboard

I was looking for a macropad to speed up some Office tasks and I think Josh's Hub16 is among the most interesting products out there at the moment. The 4x4 switch layout with the addition of the encoders was the best solution for my needs. The USB-C hub is an additional feature that I haven't seen on any other pad yet.

The envelope was shipped at the very end of June and I received it (in Italy) just a couple of weeks later. Considering the pandemic I was very lucky. Everything was perfectly sealed in antistatic bags and the PCB looks perfect, very neat and clean (the integrated layout, with no need to layer it with an elite-c or equivalent like with other pads, was another big plus for me).

All the material on Josh's GitHub is extremely well organized and his support when it comes to customizing the Hub16 to your specific needs makes this product stand even more over the alternatives.

Great product

For Hub16 - Programmable Macro Keyboard

After looking after something like this for ages, but not enough know how on how to make custom keyboards and all that, the Hub16 is a godsend. Its not sold out and its made in Australia (winning). This was also my first time soldering anything together. Easy to understand instructions and Josh provided excellent communication. Would highly recommend.

Hub16 - I wish I could justify buying more than one.

For Hub16 - Programmable Macro Keyboard

The Hub16 arrived in great condition and was packaged well. I purchased it in the evening and I received notification it had been shipped the next day. I also had an email from Josh thanking me for my purchase and directing me to all the support documentation and assembly instructions for the Hub16, so I could be ready when it arrived. I appreciated this, as I was reminded I needed to buy a new solder tip. And I did, and I was ready when it arrived.
No parts were damaged and no components were bent in shipping. The packaging was fine, very well protected.
Everything that was supposed to be included was included, no missing parts. I even received a spare switch, and a spare keycap as I purchased these from Josh also. My keyboard with a broken S key is going to be very happy with that spare switch. Another big thumbs up from me so far.
Assembly instructions are super clear. I had it assembled and ready for soldering in about 5 minutes, taking my time and checking everything. The soldering was super simple, I took my time and had it all done in another 5 minutes. After this, I finished the assembly which took another 5 or so minutes.
So in total, it took about 15 minutes to complete assembly and have it ready to go.

I plugged it in and it worked right away. I have some USB C cable ends in the mail, so, unfortunately, I cannot test the USB C hub yet, but everything else worked great and have no reason to expect otherwise. The quality of the PCB is really good, it is a pleasure to build this little guy.
I intend to use it for racing sims instead of a more costly and less flexible button box, and also when I am using my pen display.
All in all, I give this 10/10. The Hub16 is not only a great product, but there is also a bunch of great support documentation to help you get it going. The assembly was super easy and I found it a lot of fun to build.

Took over a month to arrive, not the maker's fault of course, THANKS PANDEMIC, but it finally got here and I love it. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, probably something fun with a Pi 4. I added cherry mx blues, and generic red keycaps for now.

Worth the wait? Absofreakinglutely.
