Flasher program giving Trojan:Win32/Spursint.A!cl warning!

For D-duino V2(Arduino&NodeMCU&ESP8266&0.96OLED)

I just got this lovely board a few days ago, and started to go through the FAQ. I downloaded the ESPFlasher on your site as well as the driver, but my Microsoft Security Essentials flagged the Flasher as having a Trojan infection. Trojan:Win32/Spursint.A!cl is what it came up with!

Category: Trojan

Description: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.

Recommended action: Remove this software immediately.

I'll try getting the Flasher from Espressif and see if that's ok. But you should be aware that your copy may have been compromised...or there is a false positive you need to be aware of and mark it accordingly!

You can go to http://espressif.com/en/products/hardware/esp8266ex/resources to download the newest flash tool.
I tested the file on my site. It is OK and safe. I think it is the Microsoft Essentials' problem.
I have already added the link to download the newest flash tool.

Needs an external power supply.

For D-duino V2(Arduino&NodeMCU&ESP8266&0.96OLED)

The documentation should add information on power requirements. I am used to using Arduinos that can be powered and programed with the USB cable. It took me awhile to realize an external 5 volt power supply was needed. After that the example programs worked.

Neat board!

For D-duino V2(Arduino&NodeMCU&ESP8266&0.96OLED)

I haven't put this board through all of its paces yet, but it seems to work pretty well so far.

I was able to get everything working fairly simply using this driver on OSX Sierra:

And this board config:

And with these settings:
Board: ModeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module)
CPU Frequency: 80Mhz
Flash Size: 4M (3M SPIFFS)
Upload Speed: 115200 (Faster may work, but this always worked for me)

Bear in mind that the OLED pins for Arduino are 5 (SDA) and 4(SCL), and not the defaults that are set in the example sketch.

I have not gotten other more complicated drawing libraries working with the OLED screen so far, but it's just a matter of time!
