The CAT24C256 breakout module is a EEPROM memory module with 256kb or in other words 32768 words of 8bit memory, 1.000.000 program/erase cycles and a data retention of 100 Years. I2C frequencies of up to 1MHz are supported. By default, the EEPROM is write protected. To enable writes to the memory, the jumper labeled WP needs to be shorted. This way the module is ideal for storing information like calibration data, which needs to be protected from accidental writes. The default address is either 0x50 or 0xA0, depending on how your driver expects the address bits. The lower three address bits can be changed by shorting the bridges labeled A0, A1 and A2. This way up to 8 modules can be addressed individually on the same bus. With the integrated two Qwiic/STEMMA QT connectors, the module can be easily connected other Qwiic/STEMMA QT compatible modules and microcontrollers. Standard pin headers are also available to connect the module using traditional wiring. All necessary pin headers and a jumper are included with the module.
