What is it?

Linkz is another Mutable Instruments module that I chose to clone in throughhole version. The Linkz is a utility module which consists of one 1 to 3 buffered multiple. One 2 to 2 adder/mixer and multiple at once. And finally one 3 to 1 mixer, or avarager as Emelie explains it as. Each input is added together with 1/3 of the input, thus adding three signals into one avarage of all three.

Why did you make it?

In my ever continuing work on lots of modules at the same time, I found myself stuck, and felt I needed a "simple" project to get out of the rut. That is when I decided to make this module. This ended up being quite a difficult project anyways, mostly because I messed up a bunch of times.

In the end I find it to be a very good utility module to have in the rack with both a mixer and a buffered multiple and one more of either in just four HP.

What makes it special?

It is another one of Emilie Gilet's wonderful circuits taken back to life in a DIY friendly throughhole version. It can be soldered in about an hour at a normal pace. The component kit contains everything needed to build it. But buying the PCB and Panel only and looting your own component stash is even cheaper ofcourse! There is an option to use ONE SMD component if one wants to venture into surface soldering. It is the quad opamp OPA4171 as this does not come in a throughhole packet. However a TL074 or similar should work fine, and a socket comes along with the kit aswell.
