Nice clock but it will NOT connect to an open AP
For NTP WiFi LED Matrix Clock with Seconds
UPDATE: The seller has resolved the issue, thank you!
Beware this clock will NOT connect to an unlocked WiFi AP! There must be a way to install firmware that allows it but I bricked the clock while trying. I attempted to modify the code in Arduino IDE but the Github repository is not compatible and will not load. Seller did not respond to my questions. Wasted money. Too bad because it was a really nice clock while it was working, except for the minor problem that it couldn't NTP update.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for the tremendous frustration you have experienced with the connectivity issue and the unsuccessful firmware modification.
For your specific case, our support team has sent three follow-up messages to assist you—could you please confirm if they possibly ended up in your spam folder? We truly wish we had received your ticket earlier to prevent this.
Regarding the Wi-Fi constraint, this clock is designed not to connect to open/unsecured Wi-Fi networks by default. This is a security measure to protect the device from potential unauthorized access and network vulnerabilities, as connecting to public networks could expose it to significant risks.
However, we do have a solution for you:
We can provide customized firmware for open networks. Had this requirement been specified in the order notes, we would have pre-loaded the appropriate version.
To make things right, we are prepared to arrange a replacement unit for you free of charge, pre-configured with the firmware that supports unsecured Wi-Fi connections.
Please reply directly to this message with your Order Number and shipping address. Our technical team will ensure the new clock meets your needs.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to resolving this for you.
