Fantastic project, fun to mess around with
For PicoTouch - Capsense MIDI keyboard for RasPi Pico
I'm a maker at heart, and I'm dating a music producer who's trying to get me into making music as well. So, what better gift than matching midi controllers?
These were a super easy build (despite needing to order a spare because of my own mistake), and are super fun to play with. I only have 2 real complaints, and one less than serious complaint.
First, I've noticed that, occasionally, it will glitch and play a single note until it's unplugged, but I'm not sure where the issue here lies, could be my own fault, could be a coding issue, I'm not sure.
Second, a big draw for this project to me was the portability, so I wish the design for the 3d printed case was a little more robust, but that's something that can be done after the fact with just a little bit of CAD design, so it's not a huge deal
Overall, I highly recommend this project if you're either a techie wanting to get into music, or a musician looking to get into tech, it was very fun to put together, and I'm fully planning on making the full synthesizer version when I can. Thank you to the creator for the amazing design work on this project, it's super clean and super pretty to look at, and functions overall very well.
