The instructions are simple enough, but I dislike the limit on the cartridge. I was trying to get the profile right for my 3rd party resin and that caused me to switch profiles, thus needing to switch resin type on the cartridge. Now I'm down 3 resets out of a total of 10 which is pretty limiting for the price paid. Following that the printer now can't see that the tank is full. It sees a Grey v4 cartridge and tank, but keeps trying to fill the tank. I have tried troubleshooting, but at this point am now relegated to printing in open mode which defeats the point of the universal cartridge. Not impressed with the product, would prefer better documentation on common issues.
Edit: Thanks for offering to reset the use count. You said I need to fill the cartridge with at least 200ml does that mean that if there's any resin in the tank it won't recognize it and will over fill?
Edit #2: I just took the resin in the tank, filtered it, put the good stuff back into the cartridge and it dispensed it but still kept getting stuck in a never ending tank fill loop.
Several weeks ago we have release a video demonstrating how to setup and use the cartridge the first time, have you seen this? There is a 10x reset limit, this should be enough for 20 liter of resin. Most users earn the cartridge back in about 2 or 3 liter of 3rd party resin(with some dental resins already in one liter). If you want to use the cartridge with a resin that has not been tuned or tested for the formlabs machines, we're happy to help and can reset your use count for free, so you are able to test all the resin profiles to find the right one.
You can also switch back and forth between previously used resin profiles without losing any credit.
When the machine gives the message that it is "waiting to fill the tank", this means it cannot dispense resin from the tank. You need to fill the cartridge with at least 200ml of resin so the machine can top-up the tank itself. It is possible that you have a resin which is not tuned for the formlabs machines and is cannot be sensed by the machine, so it gets stuck in the “waiting to fill” loop.

This is a great product, We bought the unit for our own installation and it works great. The profiles are good and it works exactly like a Form2 original cartridge. Its nice to be able to have the choice / option of using third party resins, Some of which have significantly better performance and lower cost than the original FormLabs products. It now means we enjoy the full functionality of the printer - no more poor prints with a line through them (and often a weak point) with the 100ml stop point in open mode, also we now enjoy the advantages of the wiper and the heater. The resin dispenses from the cartridge an we enjoy the full functions of the printer.
A somewhat cheap flower sensor compared to other brands, like Flower Power, Koubachi and PlantLink. This one has WIFI connection was makes it better than FlowerPower, that only has Bluetooth, so you do not have to stand right next to you dead plant to get information about it being dead. Sensors for water, temperature, nutritions and sunlight, like the Flower Power and Koubachi, but in the current way of usage the sunlight sensor is not really working, because its located at the board, which in normal usage will be protected by the plastic housing thereby leaving the light sensor in total darkness at all times. The sensor needs to be moved from the board and integrated into the plastic housing in order to work.
Battery consumption is quite high with the standard setup of 300 seconds between updates. Increase the update value alot and it works great. A flower do rarely die within 6-8 hours. :) The homepage has no plant database, no triggers or alarms. This product is only really worth it if you make you own server with these features. A forum on the product homepage for exchanging ideas and code would be a great addition. The documentation lacks alot. A forum could help here also and a FAQ-section would be nice. I had a lot of problems getting the product to contact my own server and had to do a lot of packet grabbing to figure it out. Turns out that http:// in the address was being the cause, but it was there in the original setup.
Once you have managed to make your own homepage, then its great. My first try with a plant sensor was a Flower Power and I could use this one to calibrate the sensors on Greenthumb for my specific plants.
