As described and of good quality
For Temperature & Humidity Sensor EFEKTA (Zigbee)
Temp/Humid/Pressure sensor arrive after a few weeks, which is fine considering it had to pass through customs. The item was well packaged, took a bit to get it open.
First impressions:
- case is phenomenal, looks and feels good, exceeded expectations
- board looks clean and well soldered
Practical notes:
- need tiny screw driver to open case (ifixit kit to the rescue)
- comes pre-flashed, which is a nice as it saves you the hassle of flashing it yourself
- pairing took a few tried, I ended up needing to reset it to get it to pair
Reporting:
I decided to tweak the default reporting a bit to make it match some of my other sensors, this seems to work fine and the device accepts the new configuration without issue.
Update: looks like the device ignores the 'change' property of the reporting. I have min=0, max=1800, change=10 for temperature and it only updates once 30 min (1800 sec) has past, even if the temperature varied more than 0.1 C. I also tried 50 for 0.5C and with a min of 60 seconds, it always reports at max without taking into account the change parameter.
Update 2: looks like the change values are hardcoded in the firmware, I'm in now way smart enough to fix and compile a new firmware, the values are: 33, 50, 10 for temperature, humidity, and pressure.
Will leave it inside to see how it functions before moving it outside after a few weeks to replace a cheaper mass produced temperature sensor.
NOTE: so far no communication with the seller, as this wasn't needed
