E-Aster

Aster is a flower. E-Aster is an electronic decoration like aster. It has a symmetric pattern. With dynamic colour changes by code, E-Aster can be a star. It can be controlled easily by any Arduino or Arduino-compatible dev boards. More Arduino code can be found on my Github page.

To buy E-Aster alone, you may need a bit soldering to connect E-Aster to your Arduino board. Just three wires, power(red), yellow(data-in), and ground(black). The best library for this task is FastLed. For WS2812B-2020, you need connect 5V to the power of E-Aster.

Note: E-Aster can be connected in series. Just ensure the power supply is able to handle the peak current.

A SAMD21-based controller board is added as an option. It is preprogrammed with Arduino and CircuitPython. With a USB3-type-C cable, everything should work out of the box. If this option is chosen, the controller is soldered onto the back of e-aster.

Hypnotic and mesmerizing

It's *so* pretty. A compact little package of beauty. My only (very minor) complaint is the shipping time, which is entirely due to Canada Post, and not to the shipper. He's cool. I especially like the github links, just in case I get bored and decide to customize the lights. Or maybe I'll just look at the pretty lights some more.

So gorgeous and well designed

I LOVE this PCB. It's especially nice as a wearable because using a second PCB as a diffusion layer makes it thinner, as well as the fact that the decorative design on the PCB cover layer is lovely. I pixel mapped it and ran some animations on it with Pixelblaze (also on Tindie!!!) and it looked lovely:
