Installation instructions

• Make sure the charging port on the controller is not damaged. If slightly loose or bent out of shape, chances are the adapter will still make better contact than the MINI-B cable - but no guarantees.
• Thoroughly clean the area around the USB port with isopropyl alcohol. This makes sure the adhesive sticks well.
• Orient the adapter so that the large gold pad is facing up and multiple gold strips facing down.
• Remove the liner from the adhesive strips. You can skip this step to test out the adapter and get a feel for inserting it properly before sticking it down. If the PCB pops out of the black housing, just pop it back in - it fits only one way.
• Align the adapter with the controllers USB port. The wider part of the port (and the top of the controller) should be facing up. Slide the adapter in between the upper metal connector housing and the black inner piece, that has 5 little rectangular holes. Make sure the adapter is going in straight and not at an angle. You should feel slight resistance.
• When inserted fully (no gap between the controller and the adapter), press firmly. This helps the adhesive to stick properly. Try to avoid pulling on the adapter for the first 24 hours for optimal stickage :)
• Enjoy your brand-new Type-C port!

DualShock 3 controllers does not charge without first establishing USB communication. This adapter does not change that. Use host USB (Type-C or other) ports for charging (such as PS3, laptop, computer, smartphone, etc. USB ports).

If you wish to remove the adapter, slowly break the adhesive at the edges with a thin plastic spudger. Make sure not to bend the adapter too much. Some hairdryer heat and/or Isopropyl alcohol could help loosen the adhesive. Replace the adhesive strips with 3M 9448A or similar.
