The Pixel Clock is a four digit clock made up of 86 WS2812 addressable LEDs (3535 size) arranged into a 7-segment display with a colon. The board is designed to be connected to the microcontroller of your choice, or it's fully provisioned for an optional ESP32 module (ESP-WROOM-32). Just solder a ESP32 to the back, flash the code and go.
Pins from the ESP32 are broken out to add additional features such as a photoresistor to control brightness, an I2C real-time clock, or speaker for an alarm. These features aren't yet implemented in the code but shouldn't be difficult to add.
I wanted to design a clock for my kids that would let me change the colors based on bed time or when it's a good time wake up or nefarious parent tricks like setting the clock back an hour on the weekends. I chose to base it around the ESP32 so that those features could be implemented via web or app interface someday.
This is the first clock kit that I know of that uses WS2812 LEDs arranged as a 7-segment display with multiple LEDs/segment and a size close to traditional bedroom clocks.
