This is an original Commodore 1581 3.5" Disk Drive in pristine condition. It has been cleaned inside and out, given new high-quality capacitors (PCB and Drive Mech), old sockets replaced with new double-wipe sockets, unsocketed chips have been professionally desoldered and given their own double-wipe sockets. Also has new rubber feet.

JiffyDOS has been installed but I would not drill/damage the case for a switch; to enable JiffyDOS you must shunt Pin 1 of ROM to GND. In use I just had a long wire pair to an external switch. This will be your choice how to use.

The plastic case is in perfect condition. There are no evident scratches, dents, abrasions, marks or cracks. This has never been "retrobrited" or given direct sunlight and does not appear to require any.

Includes disk drive, original white serial IEC cable (cleaned), original power supply (cleaned), original users guide (A+++ condition), and original 3.5" 720KB Demo/Utilities Diskette. Disk is a little dirty that could be wiped off, I did not since it was paper and concerned I may damage the paper with anything damp.

Drive mech is in excellent condition, reads and writes without errors and is quiet like it is brand new. Ribbon cable has been replaced as original had been worn by internal steel edging. Edging has since been gently filed and taped to prevent further damage from occurring.

Power Supply is North American 110-120VAC.

• Drive, Booklet and Disk are heavily bubble-wrapped in one side of box.
• Power supply and IEC cable are heavily bubble-wrapped in other side of box.
• Nothing should move or shake around and box is heavily taped closed.
