The 2025 DCZia badge continues our tradition of a fun throwback with this Zip disk themed badge. With 42 LEDs and multiple sensors, the badge will be sure to entertain.

The Badge

The 2025 DCZia Zippy badge is the same size as a classic Zip disk. An LED array shines through the translucent shell. Multiple modes are included that are sound reactive and orientation reactive. Easy modification of the source code by plugging it into your computer and editing the source code right on the badge. CircuitPython is used under the hood to power everything.

Assembly

The badge comes fully assembled, with the exception of the SAO port and the battery box. You can power your badge via USB-C if you'd prefer to not use batteries at all. Otherwise, the battery box simply sticks to the back and two connections need to be soldered. A SAO header is included but not installed, which will require you to solder it on if you wish to have that functionality.
