What is it?

This is almost all that you need to build a Z80-MBC2 computer and enjoy playing with CP/M operating system or develop your own software in Basic, Assembler or Pascal language. Just add passive components, sockets, LEDs and transistors.

You will receive

the new bare PCB board for Z80-MBC2
Z84C0008PEC or alternative SHARP LH0080A (used in good condition)
ATMEGA32A-PU pre-programmed with S220718-R240620 IOS-Z80-MBC2 (used in good condition)
TCL551001BPL-70L or HM628128ALP-5 (used in good condition)
SN74HC00 (used in good condition)
DS3231 I2C Real Time Clock module (new)
CP2102 USB to TTL serial UART adapter module (new)
Micro SD card module SPI interface (new)

You will get a kit of verified components. The set of four integrated circuits is individually tested with Z80-MBC2 @8MHz, 128kB SRAM passed full memory test.

Absolutely the right way to go

I decided to build a Z80-MBC2 as a way to dip my toes into retro-computing and programming bare metal. Of course there's a bit of a catch 22 in this situation, I'll need old chips to build this project, but until I have a working board, I can't vet the used chips I buy...

This is a perfect way around this situation. You receive the board, the harder to obtain chips, and the peripherals needed to run this retro computer.
The rest of the components are on you to obtain, and the board is yours to build (that's half the fun!)

The chips I got were working beautifully, and after soldering everything together, my system booted up first try (if you can believe that!)

Given the opportunity, I'd go down this path again... the essential kit here is absolutely the way to go if, like me, you've never done this kind of thing before.
