The ISA 8-Bit Ethernet Controller is an open-source network interface card (NIC) created by Sergey Kiselev, specifically designed for systems limited to an 8-bit ISA (XT) bus. It is ideal for classic computers such as the IBM PC, IBM PC XT, and a wide range of PC/XT compatibles, including systems like the Micro 8088.

The card is built around the Realtek RTL8019 Ethernet controller and is fully NE2000-compatible. It operates in standard 8-bit ISA slots and can also be used in 16-bit ISA slots.

Configuration is flexible, supporting traditional DIP switch settings, jumperless setup via the RSET8019 utility, or Plug and Play (PnP) configuration. For improved reliability and ease of use, DIP switches are used instead of jumpers.

A DIP-32 socket is included for a network boot ROM, with support for SST39SF040, SST39SF020, SST39SF010A, and other compatible 32-pin Flash ROM ICs.
