Stable power is critical to a reliable Eurorack system, yet power-related issues are one of the most common causes of noise, instability, and intermittent module behavior. This product is designed to help you identify and prevent those problems by providing accurate, real-time monitoring of your system’s power consumption.

Many module manufacturers specify only average current draw, often omitting peak or dynamic consumption. While analog designs typically show minimal variation, modern digital modules using CPUs or DSPs can draw current dynamically, with sudden peaks that stress the power supply. These fluctuations are frequently the root cause of unpredictable system behavior.

This module continuously monitors current consumption (ammeter function) on two voltage rails. The top indicator is permanently assigned to the +12 V rail, while the lower indicator can be configured to monitor either the +5 V or -12 V rail. To ensure accurate measurement, the module is installed inline, i.e. between the power supply or main bus board and the destination modules. For this purpose, it includes an integrated bus bar with connections for up to five modules. The system can be easily expanded using any standard passive bus boards available on the market. All three power rails are equipped with fuse holders, providing additional over-current protection for your system.

Indicators are rated for 0.5A, 1A, 2A and 3A per rail to meet your power supply specifications and better precision while monitoring.

Design notes: Beginner soldering skills required. That means you have to understand schematics, not just being able to solder two wires together. There are no high expectations, but being able to read schematics and understand polarity of components are quite important. Refer to silkscreen instructions for jumper positions for +5V or -12V selection
