PLEASE, NOTE THAT IF YOU WANT TO SET THE EMULATOR AS DRIVE '0' OR '1' YOU MUST OPEN YOUR X68000 AND UNPLUG THE RIBBON CABLE FROM THE INTERNAL FLOPPY DRIVE YOU ARE GONNA TO REPLACE OR SET IT AS UNIT '2' OR '3' BY MOVING ITS JUMPERS.SAME IF YOU WANT TO USE TWO EMULATORS AS DRIVES '0' AND '1', YOU MUST UNPLUG THE RIBBON CABLES FROM BOTH INTERNAL FLOPPY DRIVES OR SET THEM AS UNITS '2' AND '3' BY MOVING THEIR JUMPERS.

'FLIP-FLOP' is a standalone external floppy drive emulator for the Sharp X68000 Compact and X68030 models, a home computer created in 1987 by Sharp Corporation and sold only in Japan.

FLIP-FLOP' plugs to the MDR40 female connector on the back of X68000 Compact and X68030 models.It emulates one single floppy drive at once that can be set as '0', '1', '2' or '3' according to onboard jumpers configuration. You can daisy-chain two FLIP-FLOP on same ribbon cable emulating in this way two drives (0-1 or 2-3)

'FLIP-FLOP' loads disk images (in .HFE and .HDM format) stored on a USB pen drive (2.0 or higher, NOT INCLUDED) and it's powered by FlashFloppy firmware.'FLIP'FLOP' emulates some of the proprietary X68000 FDD signals meaning it can properly run all software.LED blinking and disk image auto-eject functions are supported.

Technically speaking 'FLIP-FLOP' emulator consists of the following parts :

-The mainboard which embeds the 0.96" OLED display, the rotary encoder and USB connector :

-Adapter to connect the emulator mainboard (up to two units on same ribbon cable) to MDR40 external FDD connector of X68000 Compact and X68030 models :

-Ribbon cable to connect up to two 'FLIP-FLOP' emulators thru the MDR40 adapter :

-USB to floppy Berg cable to provide power to 'FLIP-FLOP' emulators (up to two units) thru a USB charger (CHARGER NOT INCLUDED) :
