While K Type thermocouple are easy to source and relatively low priced, project makers may find interfacing the output (a very small analog voltage) of such probes to an MCU (Mostly prefer digital input) rather tricky.
Thanks to the MAXIM MAX31855K, this IC does everything for the project makers.
Our breakout board using the MAX31855, can be easily interfaced with any microcontroller, even one without an analog input and our board is 3V and 5V compatible. (Through connecting different pins)
This breakout board has the IC, level translating circuitry and the standard K Type connector, all assembled and tested.
Works with any K type thermocouple
Will not work with other types of thermocouple K type (Typ. -200°C to +1350°C output in 0.25 degree increments) (Note : K thermocouples have about ±2°C to ±6°C accuracy)
