Read More…Based on the famous #Iot Octopus 🐙 we designed a DIY kit so you can build your own traffic light to alert you about high level of CO2 in your room specially in classrooms. There are threshold for good, warning and alert based on the sensed CO2 value in ppm. The designed PCB is pretty flex so you can choice your favorite MCU and one of many display options (check the data sheet!). The kit we recommend is based on the ESP8266 and provide capability to store sensor data online (MQTT,Thingspeak, even we provide an on board web server, when you use our "IoT Werkstatt")
Comes with PCB and parts like LEDs, resistors and grove connectors. You can choice one option which is either
SCD30 + nodemcu V2 or MHZ-19C + wemos D1
Pick your option or just go with the PCB incl. passive parts and source the sensor and MCU yourself. You might have one sitting around already, if you choice your own sensor/MCU we can not take any guarantee.
Tipp: if you want a spare Feather socket free (OLED, CharliePlex Wings ...) - go with the wemos D1, if you want a most reliable CO2 sensor go with the SCD30. Btw you don't need a display beside the three LEDs, you can spin a on board web server which gives you a smilie for alert and a plotter for sensor data. If you go with the PCB only you can also use a Feather MCU like Huzzah 8266 or others which has an LiPo charger on board - on your own risk.
With a little soldering, you will get it running!
This is a kit of parts, requires assembly and some through-hole soldering. Added Instructions in data sheet link below. Bauanleitung unter "data sheet" Sample code in link section below (Ardublock, Arduino).
Many folks asked for a pre-packaged kit of parts - here we go!
To help schools during COVID19 to ventilate classrooms, which reduces the number of potential infected aerosols. This is a great DIY project for pupils/students to learn about STEM/MINT. This is not a life-saving, nor a medical device, as a kit it comes without certification. We recommend to calibrate the sensor in fresh outside air before us.
First of all it was designed for pupils/students to build their own air quality sensor as part of a STEM or MINT class. Our just for anybody interested in IoT and helping to vent rooms effective these days. It comes an graphical programming extension to the Arduino(TM) IDE - Ardublock, we build any block specifically for IoT use cases plus blocks for CO2 monitors (you can calibrate the sensor, run a embedded web server presenting the data on your phone, or you can connect it to even more complex things like TheThingsNetwork(TM) or via MQTT(TM) to a grafan(TM) dashboard).
All-in-one kit, supporting multiple MCUs (Adafruit Feathers, wemos D1, nodemcu V2), multiple NDIR CO2-sensors (SCD30, MHZ-19C, S8 ...), pre-packaged based on your option selection. The kit can be extended with optional displays like NeoPixel rings, CharliePlex Matrix Feather or even an OLED. These displays are not included.
The shown OLED Feather goes only in combination with a wemos D1. Shown OLED is not included. Shown Feather sockets are not included. Limited edition with BME680 and NeoPixel on PCB on request.
If you are looking for a larger # of kits please send me a note!
If you don't want to solder check our IoT Octopus and the CO2 Wing.
If you want to design your own acrylic case with the source in our github, see link below. You can add your own city / school logo ... and make it yours! Check your local makerspace to help with the laser cutter, or check online services.
IoT Werkstatt (Arduino(TM) IDE + Ardublock and required libs) can be found https://www.umwelt-campus.de/en/research/projects/translate-to-englisch-iot-werkstatt (check the quick start for find download link)
