We like to make the Arduino communicate with other devices and infrared signals are everywhere (e.g. Gaming consoles, electric fans, TVs, light bulbs) so we just HAD to make this shield.
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ! Although the shield is compatible with any Arduino board that meets the requirements above, the software libraries we developed for it are only compatible with AVR based boards e.g. Arduino Uno R3, and Arduino Mega 2560 R3.
The Infrared Shield might be compatible with software libraries for other Arduino boards if and only if the libraries support a receiver on digital pin 4, and a transmitter on digital pin 9.
Visit Infared Shield for Arduino for schematics, and more.
Download it from our GitHub repository: Infrared Shield Library for Arduino

We recognize our top users by making them a Tindarian. Tindarians have access to secret & unreleased features.
We look for the most active & best members of the Tindie community, and invite them to join. There isn't a selection process or form to fill out. The only way to become a Tindarian is by being a nice & active member of the Tindie community!
