Read More…This is a version of the popular 6 Pack CNC controller that is designed specifically for use with external stepper motor drivers. It is designed for FluidNC firmware and uses an ESP32 microcontroller.
There are no jumpers to set. It is ready to use with external drivers that accept 5V signals. There is plenty of current to drive the optical isolators typically used with these drivers.
This controller replaces (2) of the CNC I/O modules that the 6 Pack uses with (6) dedicated input and (2) 5V output signals. This was done to reduce cost to the user. Virtually all users need some inputs and outputs, so this saves the cost of 2 modules. If (6) inputs is not enough for your application, you can put a (4) input module in one of the sockets.
There are currently (9) types of CNC I/O modules. These are used to interface with a vast array of hardware on your machine. We currently support (11) types of spindles including (6) RS485 VFD brands. There are also modules for RC servo, displays, MOSFETs and switch inputs.
It uses the same I/O pin numbers as the 6 Pack, so all 6 Pack external driver example config files can be used with this controller.
FluidNC is designed to be easy to use and super flexible. It is easily uploaded without any compiling. You simply upload a text file that describes your machine. Upgrades or changes can be done via WiFi.
This controller extends that philosophy to the hardware. You can easily make changes or additions to your machine. If you want a machine that is a router and a laser engraver at the same time and can run both form one gcode file? FluidNC and this controller can do that.

The design is 100% open source. The design is available on OSHW Labs using the free online EasyEDA software.

This product page is for the motherboard only. You can optionally add a programmed and configured ESP32. CNC I/O modules must be ordered separately.
