I try very hard to support independent manufacturers and honest hardworking sellers who put in the time and effort to create their own projects. This is exactly why when Widgeneering made a stock quantity mistake with my first order that I didn’t request a discounted in the difference owed on my second to rectify the issue. I simply paid a second time knowing full well that I would discard the first product into the trash. However this humbling fact did not stop Widgeneering from completely destroying my faith in support of the little guy.

Firstly, the display bezel’s holes & edge cutting leaves a lot to be desired. A better job could be achieved with thin plastic, scissors and a metal chop stick. Secondly, yet more importantly, after 10 days had passed with no update on my replacement order, I contacted him. Then I contacted him again. And again. And again. And again. And after each time I saw him READ my messages each within a few hours of sending them without any reply, I began to realise this was going to be a very disheartening experience. Of the 7x messages I sent him regarding my replacement order, he replied once to state that he would complete my order within 2 days. Another 4 days passed, more messages ignored before finally cancelling my order all together.

I’m out of pocket from my first mistaken order but most importantly he has really shaken my confidence in trying to help local creators. It’s been an extremely sad and disappointing experience. Please sellers... just communicate with your respective buyers. Most of us are happy to wait weeks, even months, as long as you maintain communication with the individuals who have literally paid you to support your art. Widgeneering... I would still very much appreciate a message from you... you don’t have to leave your customers feeling this way?

Quality Stand

I use these for prototyping with an LCD output. It allows you to protect the LCD and get a good view of the LCD. Very well made and professional.

Didn't Work

The acrylic bezel I purchased did not work. The holes in the corners did not match the holes in the corners of the display. However, I did use the screws that came with it to install the display, but without the bezel. The screw holes were off by a large amount, not even close.

Love this thing!

I do not cut pretty holes for these LCD screens, but this saves me every time! The holes all line up perfectly and it is a great template if I do say so. Highly recommended.

Pefect find for a common item with no Bezel Options!

I have seen this product in my searches over the past few years. I recently acquired three 2x16 LCD's for my Virtual Digital Organ to display information about functions not shown on the monitors. I had looked everywhere for nice plain bezels to use and these kept popping up in my feed whenever I searched for them. But they were THE ONLY thing appearing that matched my search description.

I went and purchased them and really like the appearance and functionality of including the break-out boards in the frame of the screws which eliminates yet another calculation when installing into my virtual organ console. All other options had to be modified in some way. Now I just wished that this producer had smaller bezels for LED bar graphs and 7-segment character displays. I will have to provide them myself!

16x2 LCD Bezel

The bezels shipped in a timely fashion. They are well manufactured and add a touch of professionalism to the projects. I will buy more in the future!
Wish that a larger bezel for a 7 or 8- seven segment frequency counter display was available. I would purchase in a heartbeat!

Only solution out there

For Adafruit 1.2" 4-Digit 7-Segment Display Bezel

I searched long and hard for a display bezel for this LED display. This was the only one I found. Cuts are clean and it fits the display well. Screws provided were slightly too big and required drilling out the bezel and the screen PCB. Aesthetically, I think the bezel pieces are a little thick, but no big deal.

Nice looking solution for LCD display mounting in a panel.

This bezel looks good and provides a means of mounting the LCD with or without Arduino. There was no documentation, but it is pretty much self-explanatory.

Excellent Product

Highest quality 20x4 LCD Bezel on market

I'm using this product for a home security system product in conjunction with a 20x4 LCD. I've looked at other bezels on the market (see for example products available at Digikey). The others work but have deficiencies mainly due to either not concealing cut marks around the rectangular opening, or not dealing cosmetically with mounting screws, or both.
This device is the most solid and does the best overall job. It's also (by a significant margin) the least expensive. The bezel is nicely machined, arrives with surface protection, and looks nice. There is no skimping on mounting hardware. Shipping was reasonably fast. I've already reordered once and will likely do so again.

Nicely Done - Great Product

This item is exactly as illustrated and described on the product page. Line up with the LED backpack mounting holes was perfect and everything fit together nicely. The pictures only show four nuts provided, but I received eight and used the extra ones as locking nuts. The mounting bolts are a tight fit through the bezel holes and have to thread themselves through as you go, so take care to use a properly sized screwdriver to avoid stripping the heads of the bolts. The bolts are even a tighter fit through the Adafruit backpack mounting holes. I was able to get three of them threaded through the circuit board by taking it slow but the last bolt would not even start so I drilled that one backpack mounting hole just slightly larger. The only thing I see lacking on the website are physical dimensions. It would be nice to have a drawing available on PDF that provides physical dimensions of size, cut-outs, and mounting holes. Overall, very happy with the purchase and the product. I would not hesitate to purchase again. A well engineered solution to the problem of cleanly mounting a four digit LED segmented display.

Good but can be improved

The bezel fits perfectly. However, the material of back plate has exfoliating tendencies and the bezel is not painted as a strong grey color (a bit fade). The back plate gets too close to the I2C optional shield molex connector. Functionally receives the mark 9.5 out of 10. I'll buy more.

Fabulous product

For KTM-S1201 LCD Bezel

I finally found a solution for mounting my display, so I could put my frequency generator in a box. These bezels are of very high quality, look good, and are highly recommended.

Simple but does the job.

While the item is entirely practical and goes together well, it would of course be nice for the bezel to have bevelled outside edges, plus a glazing recess. Then it would be very neat and compact, in addition to its current simplicity and practicality. 3D printing, maybe ??

Excellent item to finish your project!

The workmanship is first class. You know how you put the icing to finish a cake and tie a ribbon to finish wrapping a package - this is what you need for your projects with LCD displays. Puts your item on the next level and makes that much difference! I did not need documentation and had no communication with the vendor. Item was packaged well and shipped fast. Protective film is left in place to prevent damage and fasteners were provided

I will never repeat this experience

The product is very expensive for what it is,
arrived afrer 1 month instead of 1 week with USPS,
the goods arrived scratched so they are now part of my garbage.

Very sorry to hear this. We ship every faceplate with the protective covering still on the acrylic to help prevent this from happening. So far after shipping over 500 faceplates, I have never heard of one being scratched up.

Life Saver!

I had bought an enclosure that required a 16X2 LCD cut out, but I screwed up the hole while cutting!

After a quick search, I found this Bezel which easily and beautifully covered my horrendous hole.
Enclosures are not inexpensive, so this product, to me, is a life saver and money saver too!

The quality is outstanding! No rough edges. And shipping was extremely fast!

Clear Backplate

This bezel is exactly what I needed to showcase my low power ham radio. My digital display cutout was very rough. That is, it wasn't too straight and lacked clearly defined cutout. I added this bezel and all my cutout imperfections are now hidden. What a clear change this bezel makes to the appearance of my radio. It now looks professionally done.
