Most powerful Meshtastic device tested. Use wired/car/boat

For Meshtastic Mesh Device Station G2

The G2 was the most powerful of the several Meshtastic devices I tested. It is best in a car, home or wired repeater. Not great for handheld use as a large external battery is needed for the extra power requirement. It has good features, and the community was nice and helpful. Sensors like GPS are easy to find. Because of the power usage I recommend for use in a vehicle or location with power. The bluetooth range is good but I expected more range for a ESP32.

Solid all around

For Meshtastic Mesh Device Nano G2 Ultra

Just a well put together LoRa device . Gps picked up quick , I'm using an external battery source to power it currently. The build is top notch . I use it as my daily portable driver now and it exceeds expectations.

I love the G2 . I've had it on for a couple days now as a repeater and it's a solid device all around . right out of the box it's up and running too . Built tough , shipping was way faster than i thought it would be , and I love the device so much I'm considering a second.

The gold standard in Meshtastic devices

For Meshtastic Mesh Device Station G2

The main benefit of the G2 is the high power output, where 1W on 900mhz ISM greatly outperforms other nodes such as the RAK and Heltec. It also appears to have much more stable hardware, and doesn't arbitrarily lose settings or factory reset like the RAK has been known to do.

The only minor drawbacks are the higher voltage requirements and the wifi range could be better, but overall if you need a high performance router node the G2 is the best option.

Great hardware device

This device worked right out of the box. I tried meshtastic with some ttgo boards and it was very flakey. This hardware works flawlessly and has nice antenna hardware.
