I wish there was more info supplied regarding the on-board 3.3V regulator and that the pin was a standard size/spacing. Another note is that the 5V pin is only a sink and the board does not pass the 5V through. Not an issue if you have an external power supply, but can make it harder to prototype.
I was very happy Mike wanted to make these custom boards for me. They are awesome. Good quality and working like expected and I received them quickly. Stand up guy. I have cannot say anything wrong about him and the service he provided.
Just what a breadboard junkie needs when a standard Arduino does not have enough ports or enough memory. I needed the extra SRAM, as well as Program space at the time when I bought it. Shoving a standard Arduino Mega into my project would have resulted in requiring a larger enclosure, plus the issues of how to make all the connections. This mounts nicely on a perfboard using headers. It looks well made and there is plenty of documentation available. I have not used it much as my current project is somehow still fitting in the memory limits. I have not finished writing all the code, so I might yet have to change platforms. One thing I wish that the board has was a built in reset button, but I can see that there is no room for it on the board. No problem, wire one on the perfboard.
Thank you for your support Robert, and we'll the issue of adding a reset button on the board, when we used this board we generally upload the programs we’ve developed and just let it run by itself forever, so wasn’t sure if a reset button was needed.
Thank you for the feedback! We had issues in the past with micro USB headers deforming and malfunctioning after some use so pretty much use mini USB for all my current projects; but maybe the quality of the micro USB headers has improved, will do some tests and maybe prototype some boards with micro USB.
Not being able to flash the chip is a major issue, can you provide more information? would like to know if there's an issue with the IC's since we change vendors often.
The part itself is very nice and solves alot of issues like weight and size from the original arduino mega. The shipping is very fast and smooth, it arrived within 4 days. Finally and most importantly, the seller is a very nice and helpful guy, he helped me through the transaction even when he was on vacation.
The Atmega 2560 mini PCB is an excellent product. Cost effective and functionally very usefull for my R&D work and for my prototype. Will definitely recommend to all DIY / hobbyist to try this PCB from Fuzzy Studio.
I'm using the Fritzing app to create some of my circuits! It would be very great if you provide a Part for it. I think others will buy your Mega also because they see it in the Partlist. And for me it will be more easy to create a PCB with your Mega on top of it. ( http://blog.fritzing.org )
I mounted 4 of them as a Arduino freeRTOS Quad-Core, for educationnel purpose. I suspected an Arduino mega2560 could do way much than usually used. So, the freeRTOS multi-tasking system was the natural way to go. TxRx1-to-3 are use to make applications communicate beetween the cores. The space used is so much shrinked down ! Thanks a lot to have made this tiny board available ! By the way, I am on the wish list !
Easy to program. Due to the neat layout of the pins and small form factor which I like mostly, I am able to keep all tracks to and from the Bare Minimum neat and comprehensive. I have mounted this device as a "CPU" on the motherboard for my home automation system together with a W5100 Mini. Everything works great. I have one more of these which I intend on using as an intelligent alarm system. Thanks for a great product and yes I am certainly going to buy many more of these Bare Minimum Arduino Mega 2560.
