It integrates two radio front-ends — CC1101 (Sub-GHz) and nRF24 (2.4GHz) — into a single small board with a physical selector switch and a protective enclosure. Packaged for makers, researchers, and IoT developers, this module gives you a flexible RF test platform that pairs directly with the StickC Plus2 form factor (Stick not included). It’s ideal for signal research, receiver experiments, protocol development, and bench testing when used responsibly and legally.
Dual RF front-ends in one compact module: CC1101 (Sub-GHz) + nRF24 (2.4GHz) selectable via physical switch.
Bruce firmware compatibility: Designed to work with the Bruce firmware on M5StickC Plus2 — plug-in and select the module in the RF/NRF menus.
Sub-GHz coverage (CC1101): Supports common subranges for receive and testing: 300–348 MHz, 387–464 MHz, and 779–928 MHz (user-selectable in Bruce where supported).
nRF24 support: nRF24 interface for 2.4 GHz development and RF experimentation.
Compact, maker-focused packaging: Includes module, two antennas, Groove cable, and a custom enclosure for tidy bench use.
Physical RF switch: Hardware selection between CC1101 and nRF24 — no soldering required to change radio mode.
Plug-and-play with M5 ecosystem: Designed for straightforward mechanical and electrical integration with M5StickC Plus2.
We built this module because makers and researchers often need a small, portable RF companion for M5StickC devices that supports multiple radio technologies without swapping boards. Rather than forcing users to buy separate modules and adapters, the 2-in-1 design provides both Sub-GHz and 2.4GHz capabilities in a single footprint, with a physical switch for quick mode changes. The goal is to accelerate prototyping, debugging, and learning for hobbyists, educators, and lab users — while keeping assembly simple and robust.
Primary target: M5StickC Plus2 (mechanical and electrical fit).
Works with: M5StickC family devices that follow the StickC Plus2 connector layout (check mechanical fit).
Firmware: Intended to be used with Bruce firmware on the M5 device. Users should flash Bruce to their StickC Plus2 when required.
2 antennas 1 * Groove connector cable 1 protective enclosure. (M5StickC Plus2 not included.)
Note: The following describes safe setup and menu checks to get the module recognized by Bruce firmware. It does not provide operational instructions that would enable interference with other users/systems. Always comply with local laws and regulations.
CC1101 (Sub-GHz) Setup with Bruce
1.Power off your M5 device.
2.Set the module’s hardware switch to CC1101 and connect the module to your StickC Plus2.
3.Power on the device, open Bruce firmware and navigate to RF → Config → RF Module and select CC1101 on SPI.
4.If you see “CC1101 not found”, power off, verify the switch and connections, then retry. If recognized, the module is initialized and available in the RF menu.
5.Bruce allows selecting supported subranges (300–348 MHz, 387–464 MHz, 779–928 MHz) for receive/testing within the app. Note: leaving an invalid frequency will reset to the default 433.92 MHz in Bruce.
nRF24 Setup with Bruce
1.Power off your M5 device.
2.Set the switch to NRF24, attach the module and power on.
3.In Bruce, navigate to the NRF menu. If the UI shows “NRF not found”, power down and recheck hardware connections. When detected, the NRF24 features in Bruce will be available.
1.The module is intended for development, research, and testing in controlled environments.
2.Antenna orientation and quality will affect reception; use the supplied antennas or approved replacements.
3.For custom projects, you can integrate the module into prototypes using the Groove cable for clean bench wiring.
Important: This module is a development and research accessory. It is not intended for use that would interfere with licensed communications, emergency services, or any third-party devices. Deliberate interference, jamming, or unauthorized transmission that disrupts other users or networks is illegal in many countries.
Always comply with local laws and radio regulations. The seller and manufacturer do not endorse or support illegal interference or misuse of RF hardware.
Use this module only for legal testing on your own equipment, in lab environments, or on frequencies for which you hold authorization.
