The "Burano" Xilinx CPLD board is a development board based on a Xilinx XC9536XL CPLD with 36 macrocell. It includes a two speed adjustable RC oscillator connected to one of its 3 CLOCK inputs, two debounced pushbuttons and two TIL311 compatible display to easily read an 8 bit variable in hexadecimal.

The idea was to have a common platform to develop many different circuits without the need to rebuld every time the base circuit, namely the CPLD itself and its 3.3V power regulator from a 5V USB source.

All parts of this board can be replaced easily in case of failure, the itself can be used as programmer for CPLD intended to be used on other circuits. This can't be easily done with SMD parts. The board is TTL tollerant for all its inputs and its output levels fall into the switching gap of all 74 HC and HCT devices. So, it's completely TTL compatible. It's designed by an hobbyst for hobbysts, keeping in mind the hobbyst's needs.
