Micro 8088 is an easy to build IBM PC/XT compatible processor board. It is based on Faraday FE2010/FE2010A or Proton PT8010AF chipset, that implements most of IBM PC/XT LSIs (Intel 8xxx ICs) and glue logic. Micro 8088 uses SRAM ICs to implement the system RAM, and a Flash ROM IC to store the BIOS, further reducing the number of components, and simplifying the build process.

• Processor: Intel 8088 or compatible, NEC V20, running at the standard IBM PC/XT 4.77 MHz CPU frequency, 7.16 MHz, or 9.54 MHz "turbo" CPU frequencies
• Co-processor: Intel 8087 (optional, not supplied with the kit)
• Faraday FE2010/FE2010A or Proton PT8010AF chipset, implementing the following components: 8237 direct memory access controller (DMAC), 8259 programmable interrupt controller (PIC), 8254 programmable interval timer (PIT), 8255 programmable peripheral interface (PPI), clock generation, and glue logic
• RAM: 512 KiB or 640 KiB base memory; Up to 192 KiB UMBs. Implemented using two 512 KiB SRAM ICs
• ROM: 64 KiB. Implemented using 128 KiB Flash ROM
• 8-bit ISA interface
• PS/2 compatible keyboard connector; built in AT2XT converter

What is included

The kit includes all the components necessary to build the Micro 8088 processor board, including a high-quality PCB with hard gold plated card edge connector, Proton PT8010AF chipset IC, preprogrammed Flash ROM with the Micro 8088 BIOS, preprogrammed SPLD IC, preprogrammed PIC12F629 IC for the AT2XT converter, all the logic ICs, sockets, passive components, a 3D printed ISA bracket, and so on. In order to build a complete system, you'll need an ISA backplane, a few ISA cards, e.g., a VGA card, floppy disk and/or hard drive controller, a power supply, and a case.
