WovenLux: what is it?

Orikairo is a newly minted word. It refers to origami with PCB or flexible PCB. Ori in origami means "fold" in Japanese. It could mean "bend", "weave" and many others. Kairokiban means PCB in Japanese and kairo means circuit.

WovenLux is constructed by six LED strips. Each strip has 10 WS2812B-2020 LEDs. There is one FPC connector for the controller to provide power and driving signals for these LEDs. As an orikairo, you could turn these LEDs either inward or outward while starting the assembly. In the pictures, all LEDs are facing inward. The diameter of WovenLux is about 66mm.

There is a Latin script, incipit vita nova on the opposite side of LEDs. That is from Dante. The instant he met Beatrice — an experience he later described with perfect concision and, although he normally wrote in Italian, in Latin, to give it its due gravity. Incipit vita nova, he wrote, of the moment of finding love: a new life begins.
