Does a simple job well for a good price.

This is a great device. I previously bought the Kenton solo pro 3 to connect my SH101 to my DAW. It was a bit overkill as all I wanted to do was receive midi. This does the job in a more cost effective way. I actually think it could be more responsive that the Kenton but maybe that was my set up. Good buy, easy to assemble.

Great Prodcut

Valpower have modified this productt for my Roland SH2... which gate works at 7,5V not at the usual 5V and works perfectly. Now I have midi conectivity (notes on/off) without any modification in my valkuable classic synth for the fraction of the price other solutions.

Respect your vintage synths, get this!

I have recently purchased a vintage Roland SH-101 after playing one repeatedly at Synth Palace here in Montréal. I have checked the available clones and plugin in a box reissues. Nothing sounds as good or as authentic as the original. I wanted to embrace CV/Gate options on the keyboard rather than drilling holes and installing MIDI.

This Plexy box works surprisingly well. It arrived from France to Canada lightning quick. The price is excellent. Especially when you investigate other possible options. I had to look at the online photos to understand how to assemble the plexy surrounds as there is no documentation. Only took minutes. Strangely you feel like you have done something once assembled. I use Logic Pro X and once I had bought some 1/8th patch cords and patched the unit to the SH-101 it worked straight away. There’s an onboard LED that shows the plexy is alive. Looks cool. Totally recommend this. I also have used the trig out TR-909 to drive the arpeggiator of a Jupiter-8 so I’ll probably be back to purchase some of the other Valpower units. Respect your vintage synths and use them intact with the plexy!

It simply works :)

I don't have an SH-101, but a Sequential Pro One, and this thing works like plug and play. It doesn't fail on the USB, like EVER. In this day and age it's so easy to have USB fails with MIDI but at least you can count on this one. Also, the pitch is accurate. Maybe the thing I would of loved is more MIDI controls, like to have a way to pitch bend or do tremolo, control amplitude, etc... U know... But for triggering notes, it's all good.

No Brainer!

Great little unit. Does what it says. Plug in the right cables, Open DAW, select midi-output plugin, select the right channel and there you go. Great price if you only want midi to CV/GATE compared to other more complex converters on the market.

Reignite your SH101 love

As soon as I saw this I bought it - and so glad I did. It arrived quickly, was easy to put together and so easy to use with Ableton I was up and ruining in minutes. There are no instructions - but it's so simple you don't need them ;-)

It just makes the whole creative process that much better - and now I've found even more uses for my versatile SH101. Thank you!!
