It is a tester device for A4988 and DRV8825 stepper drivers. You just simply plug and hold the button. If leds are blinking synchronously that means you have a working driver. If not, oops... something is wrong with that driver, please do not use it!
Device comes fully assembled with 3D printed box!
Tiny red led indicates device is powered with no problem. Connect 12V supply and hold push button to ensure your miniTester is working. After that, plug in your stepper driver. There are labels "A4988" and "DRV". This labels show direction of mounting. For A4988, drivers potentiometer must look to the label A4988. Same analogy for DRV8825 driver. Then hold the button. If clear LEDs are shining than you are good to go. If not, immediately push back your finger from button within 3-4 second. If you not, you may destroy your very own miniTester. Also don't forget the use switch for testing other direction.
Note That: Broken driver may also brake miniTester. Please do not hold the button more than 3 seconds if you don't see any flashing light.
I have dozens of drivers and I don't know which ones are working or not. So I need a simple and cheap way to separate the broken ones from the others.
It is very easy to use and very cheap. Saves lots of time and other expensive parts like control boards.
