The Onyx 512 is a Magic Desk compatible¹ cartridge, for Commodore 64, that can store up to 512kB. Make your own collection of your favorite games/programs and load them in seconds from a custom menu!

Single load games and programs² can be converted and programmed³ to the Flash chip. The chip is socketed and can be reprogrammed thousands of times. The cartridge also comes with a reset switch making it easier to return to the boot menu.

The board is built with high quality SMD and THT components from well-known suppliers like Nexperia, Microchip and Mill-Max.

All this is packaged in a premium black "Stumpy" cartridge case by TFW8B (Option B).

The cart is available in two versions (options):

Option A: - 1x Onyx 512 Cartridge with standard socket - 1x SST39SF040 Flash chip (reprogrammable)

Option B: - 1x Onyx 512 Cartridge with low profile socket - 1x SST39SF040 Flash chip (reprogrammable) - 1x Black "Stumpy" cartridge case

¹The Magic Desk format is a special software and hardware technique for memory bank switching allowing programs up to 64kB to be loaded and up to 1MB of programs/games on a single cartridge. The original Magic Desk cartridge by Commodore was released in 1983.

²Each game/program only consists of a single PRG file.

³You need access to a suitable EPROM programmer to be able to program the chip.
