What is it?

The SnapRail 8mm Cassette is a modular, high-precision storage and dispensing unit for SMT component tapes. Designed specifically for the SnapRail system, this cassette handles the most common 12mm cut-tapes (polyfuses, diodes, larger resistors, small ICs, etc.) with ease. It features an integrated spring-loaded tape gate that keeps your components securely indexed, preventing the tape from sliding backward or "escaping" between assembly sessions.

Each unit is designed to snap onto the SnapRail base with a satisfying haptic click, allowing you to build a custom, organized component library that matches your specific project BOM.

Why did you make it?

I created the SnapRail system to end the frustration of chasing loose SMD components across the workbench, and these individual cassettes are the perfect way to expand your setup as your component library grows.

What makes it special?

Traditional storage boxes like the AideTek Box-All 144 are great for loose parts, but they fail the moment you have components on cut tape. SnapRail bridges that gap, allowing you to secure your tapes in individual, haptic-locking cassettes that slide onto a precision-aligned rail.
