This is a kit of the entire Matrix Tactile Keyboard for direct use on the TEC-1G or for use with the Matrix Interface for previous TEC-1 models and other Z80 machines that have the Z80Bus.

It comes with the PCB which can accept both 6mm and 12mm tactile switches, a packet of 61x 12mm tactile switches and 61x white caps, and clear covers suitable for them.

You also receive the 20pin IDC header and the 20way IDC cable (approx. 30cm long) to connect it to the keyboard interface. Two LEDs and matched resistors as well.

NOTE: The second picture is of the new v2 Tactile Matrix that has a number of improvements and changes.

1. The PCB is now as wide as the standard TEC-1G which gives us more room to space the keys out. The keyboard is a LOT more comfortable to type on, now.

2. The 20 pin connector is now off to the left hand side so the the keyboard and TEC-1G PCB can be closer together and not have a coiling ribbon cable getting in the way.

3. You now have a choice of having a single reset button off to the left, or you can use the two keys in tandem at the bottom of the keyboard.

4. We have put two keys to work as a spacebar. We are investigating the possibility of making a single plastic keycap to join both key switches.

5. We have removed the Joystick connectors as they took up too much space, and there is one already on the motherboard.

If you still want the original, more compact keyboard that has the joystick options, please put a note in the order, as we might still have a few of the old PCBs lying around.
