The equipment for high-speed photography isn't cheap or simple. Edgerton is an open-source high-speed LED flash that can produce sub-microsecond flashes. The materials to build the flash are readily available, and this fully-assembled control board connects all the electronics!
Includes the microcontroller, gate driver, and solid-state relay required to run the flash. The microcontroller has the most recent firmware version (0.2.7) and has been calibrated and verified using an oscilloscope.

Clock speed: 8MHz (can be upgraded to 16MHz)

Display output: Connects to TM1637 7-segment display
Encoder output: Connects to EC11 encoder (see KY-040)
Trigger input: 5V active-low OR active-high (autodetecting)
Trigger delay: <2us
Currently two additional boards are near completion but do not have audio buzzers. The parts are on order, but if the completed boards are out of stock and you are in a hurry, contact me and I can sell them without the buzzer. When the boards are sold then I will make an order for more PCB's in larger quantity.
