Due to COVID (I guess), DHL has huge problems to hold their delivery times. Even here in Germany it takes around 3-4x times as normal. So just be patient, we have a script which tracks all parcels and will notify us if something wents wrong! We will take care and open a re-search case then!! ;)

Scammer who provides no support

As with many, it took quite a while for me to receive the stick. Due to lack of time and other priorities, the stick remained unused for a few months after which I used it for Domoticz with Zigbee2MQTT.
After a few months the stick stopped working and I checked the stick through the maker's website. The message appeared that there was a defect and that I should contact the developer.
I tried that several times, but there is no response from the developer. Fortunately, I live near Germany, because if there is no response and no support, I will report it as a scammer.
For the time being I would advise everyone not to do business with this seller!

A very good purchase despite the perturbation

I would be lying if I said that the perturbations with this purchase did not make me afraid. Orders placed at the beginning of December, info on the items page about fast shipping, and after a week, without changing the status. Additionally, comments about the scam are starting to appear. There is also no reply to the sent message. After 10 days, the parcel number appears but it is still not visible in the DHL system. Finally, an email arrives from the developer who highlights the problems and apologizes for the delays. The package also starts trip a few days later and arrives just before Christmas. And inside, a little surprise in the form of a pack of Haribo bears. My assessments show that this bribe worked :P

Perfect product, perfect experience!

Work perfectly with zigbee2mqtt. The zigbee communication is a lot more stable now.

Awesome coordinator but awful shipping

First thing first, this coordinator is awesome. Slaesh did a great job and the community did clearly recognize his work.
He faced really bad stock and shipping issues that could have take down his project but he took several times the initiative to reach his clients to check, gave them explanations and options.
So on my end, communication was great and if you are not in a rush and could wait a couple of weeks, don't hesitate.
Else, lower your expectations or try to buy other coordinators but between stock issues and shipment issues all over the world in these COVID times, good luck !

- End of August: When I did order it, I knew there were stock issues, some shipping were not honored in time and that communication was not the best but I was willing to support the initiative and was not in a rush.
- Beginning of September: Got a first email from Tindie stating that my order has been shipped and got two days after an email from Slaesh explaining shipping and communications issues.
- End of September: Got a second email from Slaesh with more detailed explanation about his situation with DHL and all.
- Mid-october: Slaesh did contact all North-American buyers directly to check if we did successfully received it or not as some people did and others were still waiting. Due to the delay, he tooks kindly the initiative to propose to resend or to refund. So I did answer him that after 6 weeks, I was now sure that it has been either lost or returned and that I would like a resend with tracking.
- End of October: Got another email from Tindie stating that my order has been shipped with tracking but tracking link was defective so send Slaesh an email and he did answer me within two days. Tracking worked great until it reached destination country.
- Beginning of November: Did receive the key and it's working great, yay !

I did a donation to Sascha couple of weeks later as I know it can be rough to run a small growing business like this and wanted to support him.

Extreme Bad

Gerät ist nach 4 Monaten ausgefallen. Verkäufer Antwortet nicht auf Emails. Hier erfolgt kein austausch des defekten Gerätes. Produkt wurde nach Bestellung erst 6 Wochen später geliefert. Es gab die übliche ausrede mit den nicht zugestellten Paketen.

Der Verkäufer und das Produkt sind extrem Schlecht. Bitte kaufen sie hier keinen Artikel.

Device failed after 4 months. Seller does not respond to emails. The defective device is not replaced here. Product was only delivered 6 weeks later after ordering. There was the usual excuse about undelivered packages

Didn't work when it arrived, seller disappeared from support

Took ages to arrive, and it didn't work at all when I plugged it in. Couldn't get it recognised in Uniflash at all.

Tried asking the seller via telegram and got a view replies but nothing helpful - then he disappeared completely.

The other stick sold here on Tindie probably is more useful.

Great little development board, once it arrives

Let's get this out of the way. The shipping is horrible. It may not be the sellers fault that DHL have obvious problems but these problems have been going on for so long that continuing to ship using this method is not very responsible. Surely there are other options. Prepare to wait for a month or more to get the product, even if other shipments from Germany usually arrives within a week. Expect no useful information or any form of working tracking info from either the seller or DHL.

The stick itself is great! Works fine as a coordinator for Zigbee2MQTT, much better than a CC2531 for larger networks. But if that's what you need, and soonish, buy the similar zzh! stick instead. The main advantage with this one is as a module for your own projects, since it has all the I/Os of the CC2652 on castellated pads which makes for a great little development board.

I bought this product on the 19/11/20 and it finally arrived in Australia on the 5/2/21. DHL are trash, their tracking does not go beyond their international centre unlike most carriers, please support the seller.

The package has not arrived and the tracking link doesn't seem to show any relevant information.

Honestly it is not totally the seller's fault, the package was lost by postal service. However the Post only able to reimburse to the sender., which is unfortunate considering that the seller don't respond to me.
I meant I get, they make and sold these things, but there is clearly an issue with the logistics. It should be solved!

Quality product!

The first of its kind for me, so I can't compare. So far, I'm learning to work with it. Integrated into Home assistant using zigbee2mqtt.
For a longer period of transport, the seller can not, especially now during the Christmas holidays and Covid19, so it is wrong to take the number of stars in the rating for this. It hurts the seller unnecessarily.

Works great; needed driver install for Win10 and Synology

After I found out that I needed to manually install drivers for Windows:

Great product, much better than the CC2531

Just plug and play for use with zigbee2mqtt and Home Assistant. Big upgrade compared to the CC2531, range and performance is top-notch. This stick is also very well documented. Only thing that doesn't work is touchlink (but thats an firmware issue on Texas Instruments side and no error on slashs' side).

Shipping was slow (expected) but the seller communicated everything adequately.

5/5 would recommend and buy again.

Great product. Used with home assistant on a pi for my home automation with ZigBee. It’s wonderful, it works out of the box, it’s efficient and never crashes. Really great.
We had issues with shipping but the communication was excellent and we got updated a lot by email. It’s good to see retailers cares about customers these days !

Good product. Product delivery time not so good.

Product works very good. I am using it with zigbee2mqtt on a raspberrypi with fhem. Delivery took longer than expected, This may be due to online shopping frenzy in germany after corona shutdown in december. Seller should have delvered via DHL professional service (available starting from 200 shipments / year), not via small postoffices for private customers.

Works nicely

I ordered the device in December along many others so the shipment was a bit delayed. I was expecting that and the seller informed everyone about the situation by email. The shipment itself took a lot of time, which was a DHL issue, nothing to do with the seller - in my case the package was sitting at DHL due for export from Germany for almost 2 weeks - this coincided with corona lockdowns so again something that could be expected.

When it finally arrived I tried to try it on mac with a VBox VM running homeassistant (USB pass-through) which just didn't work - I found people have similar issues with USB-serial cables on 10.15.7 Catalina and Apple drivers. The device does pop up in /dev but looks like the Apple driver doesn't like it (and a lot of other 3rd party devices).

I gave up on mac and pulled out a Raspi 3 with homeassistant, which took no time to get running with ZHA automation - everything worked perfectly since I plugged it in. I had several IKEA lights and controllers, paired them according to zigbee2mqtt docs and configured with HA. I'm still learning about the options there, but the stick has been great! No range issues (apartment), or any other glitches for 2 weeks running.

What to say except that everything is perfect !? Just plugged it to my Pi 4, the firmware was already installed, I followed the instructions of Zigbee2MQTT to install it on my Home Assistant and everything was working fastly.

Works as expected

It took a bit longer than expected to get the device, and the shipping/tracking was shaky. Because of high order volume before Christmas, the seller could not answer each customer individually, but we were kept informed by mail. There seems to have been some messy-ness involving DHL. But at the end, I got the device, and all the info I got from the seller by mail regarding delays and lack of DHL tracking seemed to check out.

Once I started to use the device, everything was as expected and it works like a charm. Thanks Slaesh!
The combined Zigbee2mqtt and Slaesh documentation was enough to get me going. I am a software engineer so I am technically fluent. I think it could be a little harder to get going without technical background.

I run Zigbee2MQTT in a docker container, and the Mosquitto MQTT server in a docker container as well. Everything on our home server (an old mac mini) running Ubuntu.

I use a mix of Hue and Ikea lights, and I was able to retire completely my Hue hub, and get a lot more flexibility and configuration power. Something I did not expect was starting to use Node-red, but it became an important piece in my setup to reproduce all the existing Hue functionalities with the Hue dimmer switches.

Stick not detected

Ordered the stick. I tried to follow the flashing guide, however nor a Windows computer or a Mac detect the stick. So I can not flash the stick.

Had a brief contact with the seller on Telegram the day the stick arrived on December 18 2020. Never heard from him after that. No replies on my mails and Telegram chat.

Really disappointed! Have a stick that I can’t use.

Very long delivery time

33 days to receive the material sent from Germany to Sweden even though they confirmed that they had stock. So if you're in a hurry, think about it.

Fantastic!

After a month of testing a short response. I'm using this stick with Koenkk's zigbee2mqtt software. After updating from a CC2531 to slaesh's stick range improved massively and so the stability of the whole system. Very good range, fast response, very good antenna!
There were some problems with the shipping, but the communication was excellent!
@Sascha I'm sorry that you had so many problems with the shipment, but the product is great! I wish you all the best and continued success in the new year!

Works very well out of the box

Had some communication difficulties with slaesh, but it seems to be an issue with Tindie's private messages delivery. Also my parcel was delayed and I've found the author in Telegram. Eventually all issues were resolved and now I'm a happy owner of this device for a few months) Good luck, slaesh!

I received the device but its not working.

I received the device and it was in a good packing.
I unpacked it and plugged it into my Raspberry Pi and afterwards in my MacBook but it will not detect.
The led is only green but goes not in the documented behavior.

Perfect product does what it is supposed to do

I bought the product to talk to my new Tuya thermostats (https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/TS0601_thermostat.html#tuya-ts0601_thermostat) over Mqqt2Zigbee and that is exactly what it does.
After some Problems with the Shipping due to Covid and Chrismas - DHL - madness, the Stick was received this morning.
And after some tinkering around with HomeAssistant and its plugins I got it to work fairly fast.
So know I don't even have to move if I'm cold - perfect!

Seeing the negative reviews I'm adding my experience: Received about two weeks after ordering (though within Germany) and with a status update email after about a week, so no complaints from my side.
The device works, came preinstalled with zigbee2mqtt and worked out of the box for this purpose.

I ordered on 20.Oct, the seller pretended the item is shipped a couple days after that while the DHL tracking said the package was dropped on 27.Oct for real.
Speaking for DHL - this is the other terrible thing, the tracking says the item is still in Cologne since 30.Oct and does not move anywhere.
I contacted DHL and they told me that only the sender can request investigation to be done.
I contacted the seller a couple of weeks ago and he doesn't respond, even doesn't read the messages.
So I contacted Tindie to help me resolve this case and their answer was: well Sascha is overwhelmed, we had similar issues with DHL, please wait...

Conclusion: the product might be good, I don't know even I purchased 45+ days ago I don't have it yet. The seller's communication and overall attitude is TERRIBLE. Will not use Tindie anymore!

BTW: usually DHL shipping to Bulgaria (where I live) take 2-3 days, I haven't had/heard such experience so far.

Avoid this seller

Seller stated to send the package in 2-3days.
Its been 3 weeks since I made the order and the item still hasn't shipped!!!
To escape the 14-day money return policy, the seller marked the item as shipped a week ago, but its not true. The DHL tracking code clearly states the item was never shipped, he just created the DHL ticket!
To make things worse, he doesn't reply to any messages (I sent him 3). Not a word from the seller.
So I don't have the product, I don't have my money back and I don't even know if I'll ever get the money, the product or none!
Couldn't be worse!

Awesome piece of hardware

Tl;dr Buy this if you want to create/extend your home-made Zigbee network.

Well, once you pop, you can't stop™. As my Zigbee network is growing and growing, I needed a replacement for my CC2531 adapter, which was not able to handle the amount of devices anymore.
Slaesh's CC2652 does a perfect job in this case. Range is great (probably does not carry that much weight as you create a mesh network), very easy to flash (just USB), good documentation and overall it's just doing a fine job.
Working perfectly with zigbee2mqtt, did not test anything else.

My setup:
* Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (2GB)
* Docker-compose stack, running:
- zigbee2mqtt: Controller for Zigbee devices
- zigbee2mqttAssistant: UI for managing zigbee2mqtt
- mosquitto: MQTT server which acts as message hub for all services listed here
- dyihue: Software implementation of hue controller, acts as a bridge between Philips Hue apps and zigbee2mqtt
- HomeAssistant: Currently just used as convenient web/module UI and dashboard
- node-red: Low-code graphical programming platform, all the automation is done here

Great for Home Assistant on a Raspi 4

Shipping took a while but once arrived you will get rewarded with a great product. Just plug it into your Raspi (with an USB-extension-cord preferred to minimize interference from the Raspi itself), install and configure a MQTT Broker and (for my needs) Zigbee2mqtt on your Home Assistance, configure the latter and you are good to go. It just works, the range is teriffic and there is no noticable lag.

Like the previous poster I decided to order a Zigbee2MQTT pre-flashed device. No flashing hassle but straight to the fun.

Very good Zigbee2MQTT coordinator

The item arrived a little late, but that was not the seller's fault. Let me explain, it took almost 3 weeks to get to Romania (from the moment it had a tracking number and was taken by DHL), and from that about 8 days was in the hands of the Romanian post before I finally received it, our postal service is not known for their fast delivery ;)

Anyways, the device itself works flawlessly, i just plugged it in place of the CC2531 i used before.
I had to replace the PANId and re-pair the devices, but that was to be expected (it's on the Zigbe2mqtt page too)
The coordinator "sees" devices further away and is a lot more responsive.

I have about 30 Zigbee devices and don't see delays in getting the messages (before with the CC2531 from time to time i had 1-5 second delays).

So, for anybody who wants to have a Zigbee network i highly recommend using this coordinator, it's a lot better and more stable than the cheaper CC2531 coordinators.

Note : i asked the seller to send it with Zigbee2MQTT flashed so i did not have to flash it, but you can easily flash it if needed, you don't have to solder wires or things like that, just put it in an USB port and use the flasher. Just make sure to use the latest version of zigbe2mqtt and that you use the one for CC2652.

Very good!

It's great that it comes pre-flashed so I got it up and running with zigbee2mqtt in no time! I'm running a network of 42 devices off this thing, and everything works reliable. Range is about the same as my previous CC2531 based stick with sma-connected antenna.

perfect device

As expected the device was delivered within 10 days, no problem it takes some days when I know in advance.
Install went smooth, integrated within Domoticz.
Now I received my first Zigbee device I was able to pair without issues. I might need a more strategic place or an additional router for my TRV at the attic.

I am very happy with this purchase

There was some configuration in home assistant to get it to work, especially since I am using a Nuc running Ubuntu, running Virtual Box with HA but that is not the fault of this ZigBee stick.
Fast delivery, good packaging and an amazing product. I am recommending this to everyone who want to get ZigBee devices into your smart home.

Took effort to get it working, works great!

THe package was delivered in approximately a week, which is a normal speed. The product is nice: small form factor, elegant casing and powerfull.

For me as a tech-noob, it took a lot of trial and error to get it to work. I emailed Sascha (the seller) and he responded in a few days and gave me some tips that helped me tremendously. As I said, I am a tech-noob and since I am running zigbee2mqtt in Docker on my Synology, whereas most people use a Raspberry Pi, that didn't help either. But, with patience, the right online sources, help from Sascha and a lot of trial and error, I got it to work. It has been running stable for a day now and so far, so good. Much better range than my CC2531 and although I have no hard evidence except for some screenshots (which are of course only views of 1 particular moment), the range seems even better than my CC2538+CC2591 which according to zigbee2mqtt.io supposedly has the best range of all.
One person I know off reports the same.

All in all a great product, once you get it going.

Ah, and being able to flash without extra hardware is a big plus as well, it allows you to easily stay on top of the latest firmware.

Best range, fast and support all my devices

I reached the max of the CC2531 stick. Then I bought the Giovanni CC2538 + CC2592 stick. This has the same range but was faster and supported more devices. Then I got this stick, this is also very fast, supports all my devices and has a much much better range. Devices with a strength around 20 before have now up to 90!
The stick itself is also very compact.
I recommend it to everyone.

CC2652 ZigBee coordinator for zigbee2mqtt SW

I ordered the CC2652 ZigBee coordinator as a upgrade of my zigbee control platform (raspberry pi 3 + zigbee2mqtt SW). The purpose was to replace the previous CC2531 coordinator which had stability issues and couldn't cope well with my 30+ devices. The zigbee2mqtt SW recognized the new coordinator without problems and even though I had to re-pair all the devices, it costed me not as much time as expected. I could even pair few bulbs without unmounting them. The system has been working flawlessly for one month already.

Not working

Unable to make it work with Zigee2mqtt. CC2531 works flawlessly but this one sometimes starts z2m but it’s more miss than hit. Same configuration and next container start it refuses.
Given the lack of support, it is not for the faint hearted.

very good replacement for my cc2351 coordinator

I had problems in two rooms overall with the signal of a CC2351 coordinator (support by a second CC2351) and also low signal strength on most devices. Changing the coordinator to CC2652 resulted in much better signals. And lights in one room react now much better to a connected motion sensor steering the zigbee LED driver.
Thumbs up and a recommendation from my side, was a good invest.

Great product, great seller but horrible shipping partner

Setting up is very straightforward, with the help of documentation. The stick is pre-flashed with zigbee2mqtt firmware, making it very convenient. The signal strength is great and stable, no connection drop so far after using it with home assistant for about a week.

As many reviewers have commented, DHL is plain terrible: stuck for no reasons, no updates for weeks until the seller raised an investigation case. Hopefully the seller can find a better shipping company next time, which will make the entire experience so much better.

Terrible communication from seller

Placed an order end of Aug. Been hanging in the lurch for 3 months now. Had notice of shipping but the item never arrived. Seller sent one email regarding a second shipment, but I've attempted to contact him multiple times since then and received no response.

I have no qualms that the item is great, but this customer service is atrocious. I don't mind waiting for the item if I could just get some sort of message updating me of the situation!

Disappointed

It's been three months and the only highlight is the eventual refund. Poor communication from an overwhelmed seller which left a lot of people in the lurch. I like many were patient and even offered to pay more to make up for the shipping issues, but it fell into an erratic vacuum. I wish the seller all the best, but perhaps should re-evaluate whether this is a worthwhile effort.

Very good product, 200 square meter and 70 devices

I've ordered 2 of them. It works fine, the radio transmission is equally fine as the official Dev Board from Texas Instruments. The shipment was slow, because Slaesh had problems with the carrier, but when I send a message to him he was very helpful to resolve the problem.
So I think the patience is rewarded. (And thanks for the bears :)

Nice, but communication problems

Bought this item to replace my cc2531 stick, but the connection range appears even worsten then cc2531. May be received stick is faulty or this is design/production issue. Seller has not replies on e-mails, be careful with order this stick.

P.S. Should to admit that after re-pairing devices the stick start working smoothly, but communication with a seller are worse still.

Scam

Not received the item after 12 weeks. Upon inquiry the seller sent some bogus email about personal issues but repeatedly refused to provide date of dispatch.

A huge improvement over the CC2531 adapter I was using

I started using Zigbee with a couple of devices and the cheap CC2531 stick. I quickly had 20+ devices and started to see the limitations of the CC2531 stick even with a modified antennae. I had to have a few devices in places I didn't want them just to get a good reception.

Slaesh’s CC2652RB stick is a massive improvement over the CC2531. It was easy to re-pair my devices and I've been able to place them in the optimum location while still having great reception.

It's great to be supporting someone who's trying to start a business too! Thanks Sascha and good luck!

Excellent!

CC2652 is working great on 50+ devices where the CC2531 didn't handle all the devices. Range is excellent and it was an easy install!
Shipping with DHL is horrible BUT that is NOT the sellers fault. Took about 2 weeks from Germany to Sweden.

The stick came packaged in a cushioned envelope. I put my other zzh stick together without flashing it. Having the stick pre-flashed was nice. Considering both sticks I have to say that I like the blue box more than the black one, but let's not reduce products to their packaging... Anyways, I simply put the stick on my Raspberry Pi and zigbee2mqtt was running. Thanks for this great product. Also thanks for the treat - I'm saving it for when my home automation is fully functional ;-)

Great Product

I bought this stick to replace a previous CC2531 that died. Quickly connected it and configured it for zigbee2mqtt and all seems to work as expected. Took a week or so to get to me but that was down to the initially delivery company in the chain. The email comms with Sascha were good and he provided me with tracking links to see where the parcel was on its journey to me. Overall I'm very happy with the product!

Great little thing

Seller had some initial problems shipping, but promptly resolved them when contacted.
The device itself is neat, and works out of the box thanks to preflashed firmware.
No stability or range issues so far. The case is robust.
Would be nice to have an option of shutting down the blinkey-blinkeys from within zigbee2mqtt.

Product is good

Product is everything that was expected. It works fine and all the parts that came with the product seems to be good quality. Taking it into use was easy and fast. Compared to my old CC2531, this is a lot more powerful. All my zigbee devices paired pretty easily and this has no problem dealing with them (+40 devices). The range is not better since my old adapter also had external antenna but that was expected. Still this one seems to be more stable under load.

Only negative point regarding the order is the (almost) lack of communication. The order did not arrive at all and couldn't get a hold of the seller. After contacting Tindie, I got a tracking code from the seller and the item arrived fast. This all OK but the lack of communication was a big minus. I do understand the problems with shipments but do improve communication.

I can recommend this product if you have a lot of zigbee devices and I can also recommend seller even with the poor communication.

Very good

I ordered this knowing there would be a long wait time for the delivery (clearly indicated by the seller in the item description) and, indeed, after a month the item wasn't delivered yet, so I contacted the seller to figure out where the package got stuck. A lot of packages recently got lost, damaged or returned and mine was probably one of those, so it was shipped again (this time with a tracking code and insurance). This time it arrived within a few days and in perfect conditions (in a bubble wrap envelope, and with the antenna disconnected to prevent damage to the connector).

The item is great, I connected it to an rPI 1 Model B (through a powered USB hub since my old power brick wasn't enough to keep things stable - I already had another USB device connected) and Raspbian detected it immediately and loaded the proper kernel modules (it loads cp210x and usbserial by the way - it might be worth adding that to the documentation, for those that compile their own kernel or have an unusual distribution - my other Gentoo system was unable to use the device until I compared with Raspbian and noticed that I didn't have those modules compiled! it worked flawlessly afterwards) and zigbee2mqtt was able to use it out of the box.

The range is pretty good, and my devices (mostly Aqara devices) stay connected even on the next floor (through two brick walls and one concrete floor). Moving them another room farther would make the signal too weak - but that's what repeaters exist for.

Works perfectly

It arrived with a small late (occured by hungarian post?) and works perfectly. My RPi detected as /dev/ttyUSB0 (differs from zigbee2mqtt spec) and easily connected approx. 8 device. I have got no disconnect, devices works in 7/24. I did not connected directly to Rpi, instead I used an 1/2m length usb cable. And of cource disabled wifi and bluetooth.
I can only recommend that vote to it!

Replaced a CC2531 with this CC2652. 40+ different kind of devices (most of them HUE, IKEA & Xiaomi). Works perfectly. Stable, fast response, great range. For pairing new devices not need to be even close to the coordinator.
Regarding shipping, you may need to be patiently. In my case the shipment was waiting from September 12th until October 1st somewhere between DHL and the German postal service. Just after Sascha and I started an investigation where the shipment is, the package moved.

Works perfectly as Z2M adapter

I'm using it as a more powerful CC2531 adapter replacement to run Zigbee2Mqtt. Range is much better and it has no problems with larger networks.
Upon flashing it with the latest available fw on Github, it worked flawlessly and recognized all my devices.
The case is not the most beautiful one, but it works and certainly does the job.

Overall happy with it. The small shipping issues I had didn't bother me much. Communication during that time was excellent.

Great stick.

First i have to say it was worth the waiting !

Product:

Running TI CC2652RB with 80 devices its now stable and fast compared with TI CC2531 .

Communication:

I contacted Sasha due delay of shipping via Tindie and he received my messaged but i didnt received his, then i contacted him thru his mail and got answer very quickly then we found out that forum function of Tindie was not working.

I had some minor issue due i was using the wrong type of antenna and Sasha helped me out.

Shipping:

Sasha did a second try with shipping due DHL abuse of the goods and now with a trackingnumber, it took 1 week to reach Sweden and that was normal shipping time.

Thank you Sasha for making this device possible even with the all up and downs you had on the way.

Nothing received and communication severely lacking

My order was placed on the 8th August 2020 and I've made a couple of attempts to get a follow up on status but the seller seems to have dropped off completely.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend buying from this seller as you will be left completely in the dark. Some ethics in business communication would go a long way. The seller seems to be active on Tindie based on their last seen status on their profile, on a daily basis, but does not to respond to any messages.

I have made a request for a full refund so we will see how that goes. Terrible (basically non-existent) customer service.

Does exactly what's supposed to

Easy linux installation, on debian works out of the box. Could easily connect hue and xiaomi stuff and get rid of hue bridge completely. The plastic case is bit flimsy when installing antenna with SMA connector, as the outer diameter of the SMA is very tightly coupled to the hole in the plastic, and as a result I just managed to crack-open it. It seems to have quite a range, apart from few spots, my 180m^2 is covered with signal.

Essential replacement for CC2531

I have been using zigbee2mqtt with a CC2531 stick for about a year and a half. The CC2531 is not able to reliably handle a Zigbee network that consists of more than 20..30 devices with difficult in-between hops. The CC2652 deals effortlessly with such networks, and provides necessary headroom for expansion. (We do not often witness networks shrink, do we ?)

The CC2652 design made by slaesh is now running for about 2 weeks without issue. The range is only slightly better in my case, but as long as you have strong connections with some of the closest devices, the Zigbee network should really take care of the rest. Build quality is not exceptional, but good enough.

I use the CC2652 coordinator with Home Assistant through zigbee2mqtt (https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io). Support for zigbee2mqtt is excellent, both from the lead programmer and the community. I highly recommend this combination.

You should buy this because it offers much better reliability than the often-used CC2531. You really need the resulting low Marriage Interference Factor (MIF) to successfully explore and expand Zigbee / zigbee2mqtt home automation to the point it actually becomes useful, i.e. not just an experiment with 3 lights in a separate room.

Nothing received and no communication from seller.

Buy it if you want to give charity to the seller. If you want the ZigBee coordinator, you have to look for other places.
After 35 days of waiting and trying to get information from the seller, I asked Tindie for a full refund which was quickly accepted.
Sorry for such a bad review, but I really have no reason to say anything good about this seller. In other hand Tindie support was excellent. Thank you Tindie.

Great stick to use with zigbee2mqtt

Initially there were some issues with shipping, but the seller communicated clearly about what was happening and why shipments were delayed.
Finally after 4-5 weeks I got the stick, flashed it the the latest firmware from zigbee2mqtt (thanks koenkk for the great work on that one) and now everything is running stable on my home-assistant setup.

Nice little device works like a charm

There were some shipping issues where packages got broken and returned. Sascha did an excellent job in communicate with me and kept me up to date what's going on. He told us transparent what happened and what he's going to do about it. The usb stick was nicely packed when it finally arrived at my location in Switzerland. The build quality is nice. The stick has a plastic cover to keep the PCB safe. It comes pre-flashed and is ready to use. Connect the antenna, plug it in to an usb port, update zigbe2mqtt config file and there you go.

The stick keeps the promise of handling large zigbee networks. I just repaired all devices to this stick running with zigbee2mqtt and it works like a charm. It currently handles a network of about 60 devices including around 30 routers (bulbs acting as routers as well) and 30 end devices like buttons / temperature sensors etc. without any issue. The response time to buttons is really good.

I fully recommend this device for larger zigbee networks. Just be patient after ordering. This is not a big company with a lot of resources but a single person having fun doing such projects. The communication is excellent and I would wait again for this product.

Despite some problems with delivery, the device was delivered and performing as expected, as compensation for the problems got a bag of gummybears that made my wife positive and so am I about this product.

Great product

After having fought with a cheap CC2531 stick for about a year, I ordered Slaesh's stick.

Once it arrived, after a few quick issues (there are some compatibility issues in the currently released zigpy-znp - these have been resolved in the latest branch), this stick Just Worked (tm).

Adding devices went like a dream, clearly the RF performance is head and shoulders above what my old stick could deliver. Where I'd spend a few hours binding all my devices on the old stick, on this one I ran through it in 20 minutes - pretty much everything connected on the first try, even on the other side of the house.

I do hope Slaesh sells loads more of these now the shipping issues have been worked out:)

Bought the stick to replace my CC2531. Previously i had huge problems with my zigbee network. With this stick its fine now. Good for beginners and advanced users. The documentation is very good, you can buy it pre-flashed with different firmware and if you want to flash your own firmware its very easy (no additional hardware required).

Sasha had some problems at the launch of the product and especially the success of this key can be badly anticipated (more than 600 !!!)
Also bad start on communication (which caused some bad stars). But Sasha stayed honest and fair, smoothed out all those little imperfections and delivered a great product. He only deserves to be successful and I would recommend him to my friends.

Device works as advertised. Very satisfied with the product.

The device looks/works exactly as a advertised. I am using it in combination with zigbee2mqtt software stack and so far have not encountered any issues (I have paired multiple IKEA and Philips Hue devices). The preloaded firmware was the latest Z-Stack as requested.

The seller had problems with shipping - but communicated this immedtiately and clearly when issues were discovered. The package was re-sent without me having to reach out to the seller or contacting support. I wish more sellers tried this hard to fix shipping issues. Thank you.

Great product

Got my stick 1-2 weeks ago after the order got delayed due to DHL mishandling the parcels. I wouldn't even noticed it without the message from the seller.

Anyway, now to my review. As I switched from a CC2531, I had to repair all devices. Old stick out, new stick in (don't forget changing the pan_id in this case) and the foundation is ready again after entering the new stick id in the configuration of zigbee2mqtt. Repairing the devices went flawlessly and, if I'm not mistaken, even better than with the old stick. As I have to support two rooms directly adjacent to each other and due to the fact that I can't simply span the network between those rooms due to how my home is built, I have ordered a t-piece for the SMA socket of my old stick which I reused with the new one. Through the use of another antenna and some antenna cable I was able to get connection in the other room and while it worked with the CC2531, the new stick from this seller here works even better.

Definitely worth the price, time will tell how everything will work in the long time.

Edit after 2 months of use: No problem, works great. I've updated the firmware with KoenK's latest firmware when i noticed it crashed once, but it's definitely not Slaesh's fault for this, it's probably a bug in the TI development framework, which they often update. Overall the stick has been very reliable, i have 65+ devices on one coordinator and it hasn't missed a beat. I would recommend the stick.

Initial review: Plugged in the USB dongle in the Raspberry Pi instead of the CC2531, changed a couple of lines in the config file of ZigBee2MQTT and I was able to pair dozens of Zigbee bulbs, relays and buttons flawlessly. I basically had too many devices (35+) for a CC2531 and the CC2531 was crashing all the time. This one seems to handle all my devices flawlessly, and came with the latest firmware already flashed as requested.

Over the few hours i've played with it, it overall inspired me a lot of confidence.

Great Stick, works flawlessly

First off: The whole shipping issue is something that has happened, but that is something that Slaesh can't help. (I worked as a mail man during my studies and stuff like this happened a lot). Of course I would have liked to get an email sooner, but hey I wouldn't like to have to answer such a volume of emails.
He solved the issue to my satisfaction.

Now that the the shipping issue is out of the way:

I ordered the stick with a regular USB-A connector and the SMA-Connector with Antenna.
I used a USB extension cable so that the stick is placed away from the Raspberry Pi which is running Home assistant.
Using the documentation on the zigbee2mqtt site, I managed to get the stick up and running in no time. (it took me longer to pair all my zigbee stuff and get it setup the way I want).

I have 8 Xiaomi and 4 Blitzwolf devices connected without any hassle. I haven't seen any strange issues/problems.
So in my opinion this is a great product to have connected to your home automation system.

Slow shipment (but this should be solved) and great product

I bought this stick to upgrade my Zigbee2MQTT setup.
I had a slow CC2531 as coordinator which has a limited number of connected direct childrens.
I added multiple routers but devices kept registering directly with the coordinator instead of the router if it was reachable.
It meant that routers were not able to connect anymore (from what I understand)
This stick has virtually no limit.
It solved the problems I had and now my network is really stable. I don't regret the wait for the packet to arrive.
The envelope arrived not in a great shape but the product was fine. A bit more packaging would be great.

I got this stick a while ago intending to use it with the ZHA home assistant integration. After an upgrade of zigpy-znp it is now woking with ZHA and I've build up a large and stable network. Very pleased with the stability, form-factor and price of this product.

Very nice Zigbee usb stick!

Stick works as expected with Zigbee2mqtt with Home Assistant in Docker.
Stability, the amount of supported devices and the range is way better than the cheap cc2531 ones.
Quality is excellent, nice looking well engineered pcb.

Communication is excellent. Questions via email about minor issues getting it to work were answered very fast.

Overall a great experience.

Much, much better than my old cc2531

... did I say it was MUCH better? ;-)
Range is a monumental improvement. I have been using the CC2652 for a few days and so far it has been stable and fast. Updating the firmware from the command line of the machine it is already connected to is also a big plus. No more 'debug' boxes and running a windows app in a virtual pc (on my Mac) to only update a firmware.

The seller, Sascha, got in way over his head fulfilling all orders, but I do NOT believe he is a scammer as some people are suggesting. I would guess this has been a learning experience for him, and I would not hesitate to place another order... if I needed another stick ;-)

Didn't deliver

Disappointment. That’s the word to describe the experience.
I would very much like to review the product, but since I haven’t received it yet, it is impossible. Allegedly, the package was sent on 2020/09/05. I haven’t received it yet. And since there’s no tracking, I’m in the dark.
And while reading all the reviews here, it’s hard not to notice one thing: the comments rarely describe the product itself. Most tell a sad story of frustration and irritation with how the customers are treated and how shipping is handled.
Any delays, due to a spike in the number of orders would be understood and possibly forgiven, if communicated clearly. This is not the case.
I really would like to have a chance to review the actual unit itself, and not waste time pouring my frustration here.

Great product with a bargain price and awesome support.

I understand that any person starting the voyage into selling own manufactured DIY products will face some problems until it gets experience in managing logistics, planning, etc.. This is not Apple or other huge reseller with astronomical budgets on customer support. So if you didn't get the stick in a one week, just give it few more weeks before giving it one star. Lets think about it more as if you were ordering from Aliexpress in terms of wait time.

I already got mine stick and I must say that its super awesome! Much cheaper than buying for me unnecessary developer board from TI, with SMA antenna for a much, much better reception. And a optional USB-C connector? Count me in! The only zigbee stick I am aware of having this option.

It has great performance, is already supported in Zigbee2MQTT, and creators of a Zigbee TI boards support (https://github.com/zha-ng/zigpy-znp) in Home Assistant patiently debugged it with me and added support for it yesterday.

The very extensive documentation, very fast replies from a creator makes it a good community stick, that is going to have a same amount of support as zzh and others. Also support for OpenThread makes it more versatile if it becomes more used by end products.

Works perfectly

I chose this stick to add zigbee to my raspberry pi/ioBroker system. So far I bought Osram plugs and some of the Chinese aqara stuff that I didn't not want to connect to the original hub...
What should I say: it works perfectly. The connection quality is better than expected (solid concrete walls). Shipping was complicated, but the seller communicated the problems.

Wow. Just wow!

Okay, so it's only now I understand that I was among the first to actually but this product, as at the time of my purchase there were only 2(!) reviews.

I kept postponing writing this review, and I am sorry, Sascha, I haven't gotten to this earlier.

My product was ordered on July 24th, there was no tracking (or not that I remember), the product arrived in about a week, I think. So all was well on this front.

This stick was going to be my first experience in using Home Assistant directly with Zigbee devices, i.e. excluding their respectful hubs out of the flow. The Zigbee thus allowed me to unite all my devices under this one "hub".

So, 2 months into using, how would I describe it with 1 word? AMAZING!

The stick works as expected. Devices stay connected to it, I've added some routers in the middle (ZIgbee bulbs), which relay the messages, resulting in full coverage of my home.

The stick comes with firmware (thanks to Sascha). Thus, for me, it was a "plug and play" experience (just needed to download USB drivers to my Synology NAS).

My only concern, perhaps, is the signal strength. I had an Aqara motion sensor situated approximately 5 meters away from the Zigbee stick. These 5 meters consisted of 2 foundation walls (each approximately 30 cm thick), and the motion sensor would loose connection to the Stick every night. Adding a Zigbee bulb solved this issue.

This is my first stick, so I cant really compare it with others, and say that it's range is extremely strong/weak.

However, what I can say, is that once I placed some more Zigbee bulbs around, that act as routers, I havent had any connectivity problems.

Prior to my purchase, I chatted with Sascha, who was very quick to respond, cleared out the things that I wasn't sure about, and was a very nice guy in general :)

Product - 5/5. It works. It comes with firmware, so its plug and play. It works perfectly with Koenkk's zigbee2mqtt. Range was an issue for me, but again - nothing to compare to, and other Zigbee routers soled the issue.

Shipping - 5/5. Thankfully, I had no problems with DHL. Sascha also included some sweets in the package, which was a nice bonus, and my snack while I was setting the stick up in Home Assistant :)

Documentation - 5/5. Existing, clear, concise. I asked some questions to Sascha, and he said he was planning to make the documentation even more detailed. Otherwise, he responded to all my questions via Tindie messaging.

Communication - 5/5. Sascha helped me with all my concerns, was very quick to respond and very nice!

Will definitely be following him to see what he comes up with next!

Best Zigbee Stick I've ever used

I'm really happy with the stick. Using it now for a couple of weeks with great success! I've used a couple of different zigbee Sticks from ebay & aliexpress before, but they either broke down or couldn't handle the amount of devices I have. With this stick I didn't had any problems at all, just plugged it in, transferred my zigbee2mqtt network and it was up and running.

First tindie order, great product and amazing support

This was my first order at tindie, thanks to youtube I found this product here and I am very happy with it.

I ordered this USB stick and it works as designed. In my situation I plugged it into the RaspberryPI, it was directly recognized and in 5minutes it was working with IObroker. My Hue Bridge was broken and I replaced it with Iobroker and this small stick.

May just an information for all people who are replacing an Hue Bridge - It is always a challenge to link bulbs, because there is no 'reset' button. For me worked it as following out:
1) Hue Bulbs: Grab a Hue Dim Switch and Push On/Off in parallel for 8seconds, after the bulbs are blinking you can connect it to the stick.
2) Tradfri Bulbs: Switch the Bulb on and switch it six times on/off afterwords it blinks shortly you can connect it.

Well made ZigBee coordinator with better range than 2531

I ordered the stick to solve range issues with my old TI 2531 zigbee stick (spoiler: It works much better). I use the stick in combination with zigbee2mqtt in my home automation system. The documentation of the functions and the flashing process is well made and easy to follow. It took me around 20 minutes from unpacking to implementation. In the beginning I had a shipment problem, but the communication with Sascha was very nice and he solves the problem to my fully satisfaction.
The stick itself looks and feels realy professionally made. I am very curious about future products of him and will definitely follow his channel here.

Didn't deliver

I ordered on 8th of August. Seller claimed to have shipped the item on 19th of August. It's now 18th of September and it still hasn't arrived. I've tried to contact the seller, but he doesn't reply. Also Tindie support is being completely useless.

Edit: The seller did reply shortly after the original review and gave a tracking code which showed the item being shipped on 10th of September and having arrived in my country on the 18th. So hopefully I'll get it next week. I wish he had communicated it a bit sooner.

UPD: received after contacting Tindie support

I have placed the order on 18 Aug. On 30 Aug I received the message that the items were shipped. Today is 15 Sep and I still did not receive anything to Slovenia! Now the seller does not reply to emails via Tindie or via any other email you can find on his webpages....

Looks like the whole thing was a fraud...

UPD. 5 mins after I have posted the review the seller has replied promising "to check the status of the shipment in the evening". However, 5 evenings have passed already, and no reply... No reply to my email reminders as well.

UPD: Had to contact tindie support to request the refund. After quite a few emails, they contacted the seller and it appeared that the shipment indeed was sent, but not as promised, but after I posted negative review....

Anyhow, now I received the parcel. The product is as expected, so regarding the quality nothing to complain. However, the difficulties with communications and obvious lying from the side of the seller are quite disappointing.

But still, thanks for Haribo bears in the parcel ;)

EN: Today finally Zigbee dongle arrived. At first ( 3 weeks )I thought Saesh was a fraud, then I found his projects on Github and Lab-log (https://slae.sh/lab-log/)
For next buyers, be patient. What i saw, Sascha had within a few months 680 Orders and works mostly alone! Communication needs to be improved, on the other hand. What is the priority? Write emails to dissatisfied customers, or successfully complete orders? Probably the second option. What about CC2652?. Compared to the CC2531, it is simply flash. It's a very good, fast Ziggbee coordinator with a perfect range. Mainly the possibility of updating the firmware without other unnecessary "debug adapters" as the competition has. Sascha with his idea is a for me now GOD and I must publicly apologize for my initial aggression against him. I sincerely apologize Sascha

CZ: Coordinátor konečně dorazil. Nejprve jsem myslel, že se jedná o podvod, když jsem 3 týdny neúspěšně čekal a Sascha neodpovídal na zprávy. Pak jsem našel jeho další projekty a zjistil, že během několika měsíců měl 680 objednávek a je na všechno sám ! Určitě je potřeba zlepšit komunikaci nebo posílat se sledovacím číslem zásilky. Co se týče CC2652 koordinátoru, je to opravdu blesk oproti CC2531. Oproti konkurenci není potřeba žádný adaptér pro flash firmwaru. Všechno to má v sobě a to je prostě pecka! Tímto se veřejně omlouvám za moji prvotní agresi proti Saschovi.

Marvelous

I'm a Chinese user and waited for 28days on traveling. I've tried 3 coordinators before this.(cc2531-usb,cc2530-tcp,cc2538-tcp).None of them satisfied me for capacity and range.
1.cc2530 could only hold 30 devices
2.cc2538 could not be compatible to the terncy devices(xiaoyan)
After i received this coordinator, i spent the whole afternoon to migrate them from the old coordinator. The whole zigbee network performed stable and very well.

Item never arrived

Sender charged almost 10 euros for shipping in the EU without tracking or proper packaging as he mentioned that "package has come back to me. Broken, missing content, some even totally destroyed." . Is DHL post really that bad?!
I wonder how can tindie charge customers' credit cards without proof of shipping.

Den Verkäufer habe ich angeschrieben, aber er meldet sich nicht, obwohl er Online ist.
Die Bewertungen waren erst so super, aber jetzt gibt es nur noch negative Bewertungen. Sollte ich bis zum Ende der Woche nichts hören, werde ich den Fall an meinen Anwalt übergeben.

Awful service

Order placed on August, 20. On September, 1st I wrote a claim to Tindie support about 'bit delay' and got a message in 2h from seller saying the shipment has sent. And some strange explanation that there is no tracking number !!!

I totally disagree sending such shipments without tracking number, moreover there is no such information on product page as well.
It’s bad practice saying important terms after the shipment. Even within Germany there are claims in reviews, needless to say that I would probably never get it in Russia.

Think twice to get a deal with this seller. Now I am awaiting for adequate reaction from Tindie.
Will update this feedback upon coming news.

21.09.2020 - Guys, look how many reviews are posted on Sep, 21st - more than 20 out of 53! Just in one day and 95% are 5 stars. Just think how real it is.
Today most of us got an email from seller explaining what happened. I wished to believe everything was true in email but for me It looks like the seller tried to down the fire burning - I see no reasons to disclose that family needs to eat (is Tindie the only income? but no -->), business trip made all worse, negative bank accounts because of refunds etc. His main and the only problem is lack of communication, and there is no need for excuses in mail - I bet customers money were just used to help yourself - no other reason to keep the silence. If seller wanted to stop being negative he could just stop accepting the orders, but no - old orders are for the sake of new ones. Sascha, sorry, nothing personal - just business and my imho.

Works like a charm!!!

Ordered two sticks with Type 4 antenna and ZigBee coordinator firmware.

Assembly quality is perfect, all my devices successfully connected to sticks and linkquality is much more better in comparison with cc2531 stick.

There was one issue using it with mikrotik router as host (RouterOs port sharing feature), but Sascha helped me to find a problem and to solve it.

Delaying but works great

I ordered it on 07/20, and since I received it last week. IT TOOK 5 WEEKS. I think the shipping method was the problem, not the seller's delay.

One notch of enclosure was crushed because the air cushion on the packaging was poor, so had to be cut that notch with a knife. And the candy as a gift is burst and stained everywhere, so had to rinse with water. At least, the coordinator was packaged separately, so it was okay. It is not recommended to include Joystixx in overseas delivery!

Anyway, the coordinator worked fine as soon as I plugged it in. Recommended for z2m. Only the packaging will have to be improved.

Item not received

I got a shipment notification on 12.08.
Until today there was nothing in my inbox. As I live in germany, international shipment cannot hold as an excuse.
The seller does not reply to my direct message.
I will wait a couple more days and then ask Paypal for refund.

"Shipped" and never arrived | Update: Got the stick

Finally got my stick, via DHL tracked & signed. Stick is working great, great range and good documentation. Packaging could be improved, maybe with cardboard and bubbles. Product & Docs: 5/5. Shipment & Communication: 1/5 :(

Ordered on August 7th, while on the business trip and accepted the delay for a small discount. "Shipped" on August 20th and even 11 days later I haven't received the product. I live in Germany, paid $7 shipping (which should normally around 4€ for tracked & signed shipping) and got an information the order was shipped, of course with no tracking.
I'll wait two more days, until I try to get my money back through paypal.

Shipping delay

I have ordered two items on the 26th July, they shipped on the 29th July, and almost a month later, still no sign of them (I am within Europe - so no long distance shipping). I have been trying to reach the seller for the last two days through the only available means through tindie, got no response yet.
Starting to get anxious about this thing... hope it gets sorted out soon. Will update the review as soon as this gets sorted.

UPDATE: Seller reached out informing me sometimes it just takes 4+ weeks to deliver the package.

5/5 Would buy again

Ordered this bad boy to replace two CC2531's in my Zigbee2MQTT/RPi4 setup.

Re-pairing my sensors worked without a problem across the home. Signal strength and performance is great.
As a bonus, no need to mess with wires to flash a new coordinator firmware!

There was a minor issue with shipping, but the product is well worth the wait.

Best Zigbee gateway so far...

Works perfectly with my setup, home assistant with Zigbee2Mqtt, approx 20 devices and 2 routers. Signal strength is way better as ConBee2. Great job, great tools, thank you slaesh, keep up the great wort!

Great Zigbee adapter!

I use openHAB on a Pi4 and replaced my old CC2531 with this great Zigbee adapter (zigbee2mqtt). Network is much more stable, especially my xiaomi water leak sensors which are placed directly on the concrete floors have always caused problems, link quality was always very bad down to 0, but that is solved now thanks to this great piece of hardware. All devices from cellar to loft are very well connected without any issues.

Work in zigbee2mqtt on hassio like charm

Best choice when migrating from cc2531. Extra fast flash by usb on pc. Great Product.

1. Slaesh is it possible to support disable_led in new firmware? CC2531 support disable led (zigbee2mqtt config option) and this is helpfull on night :)
2. Is possible use this stick zigbee z2m nad bluetooh adapter at the same time?

Migration from CC2531 done !

I use a Raspberry Pi 4 with HomeAssistant (and zigbee2mqtt).
I migrate from a CC2531 (with antenna).

Everything works as expected, and the CC2652 seems to have a better range than the CC2531.

Everything ok - I am happy

Bought the stick some days ago.
It's working perfect and my zigbee network is now more stable.
Quality of the work is good.
The documentation is online and I did not miss anything.
I had some questions and the seller answered my emails within a few hours - great support.

Nice device

I bought it like a substitute of a CC2531 usd dongle , and clearly its more powerfull and reliable , i have improve the range and the speed.

My setup is a zigbee network for homeassistant (using hassOS) and addon zigbee2mqtt ,all in a raspberry pi 3.Works very well.

The change was worth it.

Easy to use,and good support .
