The AD-FMCOMMS5-EBZ is a high-speed analog module designed to demonstrate the AD9361-a high-performance, highly integrated RF transceiver suitable for 3G and 4G base stations as well as test equipment, software-defined radios, and other RF applications. The device's programmability and broadband capability make it ideal for a wide range of transceiver applications. The device combines an RF front-end with a flexible mixed-signal baseband section and an integrated frequency synthesizer that provides a configurable digital interface to a processor or FPGA, simplifying design entry. The AD9361 chip operates over the 70 MHz to 6 GHz frequency range, covering most licensed and license-free bands, and the AD-FMCONMS5-EBZ board will be tuned and optimized specifically for 2.4 GHz. The AD-FMCONMS5-EBZ board will be specifically tuned and optimized for 2.4 GHz, and due to the limitations of the on-board discrete external components, it is possible that it may exhibit poor RF performance for certain other programming configurations. The AD9361 itself can be programmed to change the sample rate, digital filter, and extraction parameters so that the chip supports channel bandwidths ranging from less than 200 KHz to 56 MHz.
