This is an adapter board for the TA-1042 military phone; it seats into the connection posts of the phone and exposes all 4 pins on a RJ45 jack.

It's intended as a companion product to connect easily with the RJ45 version of the DNVT phone switch. It enables you to use a standard CAT5 ethernet cable to connect a TA-1042 to our switch, or it should be usable for TA-1042 point to point operations using cheap cables without having to futz with the wire terminal connectors each time.

We've tested this with a wide variety of TA-1042 units and it fits every unit we've tested. One of the test TA-1042s had slightly different tolerance and was more difficult to insert; you may have to adjust the rotation of the terminals slightly to insert it properly.

The process of inserting the adapter board is a bit finicky and requires walking the board back and forth while depressing the terminal connectors on the TA-1042. Once connected though you can leave it in place and it makes the connection to a switch much easier.

Specs

• 2x RJ45 ports, one connects to the switch and one passes through the second line to allow daisy chaining a second phone. Our DNVT phone switch has 2 lines per RJ45 (since each takes 4 pins), so the first phone (DNVT 1 or 3) will be on the phone directly connected to the switch and the second (DNVT 2 or 4) will be on the daisy chain.
• The PCB has exposed metal to connect to each terminal connector. The tolerances have been verified on a dozen TA-1042 units.
