I've made this serial console embedded Z80 board, but indeed an independent serial console will be more useful for various "serial monitor" application including GPS module, network device monitor, and even ancient computer (like Sun-3 ?). Indeed this implementation has a "original version" of which the author permits "commercial application" but it is written in Japanese, (meaning only Japanese will see and find it..) so I've made a very handy full parts kit of the simple serial console!
Very simple monochrome serial console. Baudrate is selectable from 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200 bps. Data format is 8N1.
Keyboard layout is 101US, and video out is NTSC (no SECAM/PAL supported).
All you will need to work this board is, 5V center plus power supply and PS/2 keyboard, and video monitor supporting NTSC.
