Simple Alexa developing board consisting of ESP-WROOM-32, I2S DAC MAX98357A, and I2S MEMS microphone ICS43434
My previous item, Tiny Alexa by ESP32-PICO-D was surely working in very small size but the fabrication process was a bit complicated. This time, a more simplified board using ESP-WROOM-32 module is fabricated. This usage leads to a lower price than the previous one with the same function, Alexa experiment.
Small size (50 x 30 mm), which is suitable for an embedded application.
ESP-WROOM-32, all-in-one Module is on-board.
Single channel, Class-D amplifier embedded DAC, MAX98357 is connected to ESP32 through I2S bus.
MEMS microphone Invensense ICS-43434 is connected to ESP32 through I2S bus.
On-board USB-UART interface (CP2102) with several glue logic for direct binary uploading.
NeoPixel WS2812 is on-board for Alexa status indicator (during listening to your voice, RED blinking, during answering BLUE blinking). This function and everything was implemented by MrBuddyCasino.
MAC address of each board is checked and indicated on the backside sticker (as the image).
Full software compatible with MrBuddyCasino's Alexa code and source code to prevent audio feedback can be found below under Specs and Docs.
If you experience some issue regarding Serial interface recognition, please consider Lipo battery operation (please don't forget to switch onboard jumper). Lipo battery operation will solve most of issue!
