Precaution before ordering: This board is not your "my first ESP32 board". Developing environment arrangement and some experience is required to enjoy Amazon Alexa with this board.
A special ESP32 developing board suitable for Alexa experiment and development. All of we need for enjoying Alexa is already on-board, including Invensense/TDK ICS-43434 and Maxim MAX98357A 1ch-DAC, Lipo charger and SSD1106 display.
Alexa, which is incredible voice controlled interactive system developed by Amazon. A genius german programmer MrBuddyCasino already succeeded to implement it on ESP32 as a standalone system. By using this great code, we can make "DIY Amazon Echo" system but we will need to assemble components by components. Just I want to make it in single board form for simplicity and works well!
All we need to enjoy Alexa by ESP32 is prepared on-board, including Invensense/TDK ICS-43434 MEMS microphone and Maxim MAX98357A DAC
MrBuddyCasino's code compatible. (No need to change code. It works on this board without modification.) GPIO_0 switch for microphone activation is prepared besides OLED display.
Lipo charging circuit on-board, which enables standalone operation. We can choose USB bus power mode and Lipo battery operation mode by on-board jumper.
In addition to Alexa experiment, still we can enjoy Bluetooth speaker/webradio just by programming.
For Alexa setting, WiFi SSID/password are hard-coded (should be noted in "make menuconfig"). As a initial firmware, bluetooth speaker mode firmware is uploaded to the board for operation check. For the Alexa experiment, esp-idf environment is indispensable. This board is not suitable for your "my first ESP32 board".
Before shipping all of boards are confirmed to response "what time?" and "who are you" by Alexa. But as written above, we need to upload binary based on your own SSID/password. Please note that this board is NOT quick beginner of ESP32.
