What is it?

Vacuum tube radio kit wiring on breadboard by yourself. All the part completing radio is included. High voltage preparation is commonly a headache for vacuum tube, but this kit includes also SPECIAL POWER SUPPPLY PCB generating 30V from NiMH battery. In addition, this SPECIAL board has on-board battery recharger and just connect USB cable to recharge the attached NiMH battery! Enjoy new vacuum tube life!

Why did you make it?

I want to let all the people know the vacuum tube circuit is not black magic nor special care is NOT required. Also, vacuum tube is the origin of active device in the electronics history. Knowing the bottom is quite important to think about something new! (as I believe...)

What makes it special?

All the parts to complete radio is included
Power supply board with NiMH battery recharger is included. On-board recharger enables quick recharge just by connecting USB cable
The reflex circuit has more high performance than we expected. Even though just single vacuum tube, it is capable of receiving stations! (In my experience, comparable with superheterodyne receiver..)
Relevant hackaday project log presents how to complete, and also useful information for making more another vacuum circuit is released.

In order to complete the radio, moderate soldering skill is required. (not so difficult, just soldering wires to vacuum tube connectors, variable capacitor, and ferrite bar antenna). Please check the relevant hackaday's project log.
