Meatloaf (or Fujinet like device) for Commodore computers is not a game or software application. Instead, it's a hardware device designed to enhance the functionality of the classic computer. Here's what it does:
**Emulates a floppy drive**: Meatloaf plugs into the Commodore 64's IEC serial port and acts like a virtual floppy drive. This allows you to load software and data stored on its internal flash memory, sd card, or stream it via WiFi using various protocols from servers all over the world.
**Supports multiple virtual drives**: Unlike a single floppy drive, Meatloaf can be configured to emulate up to 26 virtual drives (IDs 4-30). Each virtual drive can have a different disk image loaded, essentially offering the equivalent of having thousands of floppies connected to your C64.
JiffyDOS and Epyx Fastloader are supported, for higher data transfers on the IEC serial port.
Tested from drive 8 up to drive 16; these drive numbers operates well, device ids from 8 to 15 are disk drives, from 16 to 19 are Fujinet network devices (that can be used to load software images too)
**Supports additional virtual device types**: Printers, a network interface, and more.
Regarding emulated device ids:
8-15... those are dedicated to virtual disk drives.
16-19 are FujiNet virtual network devices.
20-29 will be used for other types of devices.
30 is the Meatloaf/FujiNet system device.
4-7 are virtual printer/plotter devices.
**Connects to the internet**: Meatloaf also functions as a WiFi modem, enabling your Commodore 64 to connect to Telnet BBS (bulletin board systems) for communication and sharing information.
Overall, Meatloaf is a valuable tool for Commodore enthusiasts as it provides a convenient and versatile way to load software, access a vast library of disk images, and connect to online communities, all without the need for physical floppy disks or additional hardware.
#### Why did you make it?
This version of Meatloaf comes in a custom modified real plastic case, not a 3D printed one;
that comprises the entire Meatloaf device: IEC male port, 2 buttons at the upper part of the devicce (an user button and a reset button), the controller and WiFi enabler board inside the plastic case, a micro SD card receptable (accesible from the upper part of the case) and a power and data USB-C cable.
#### What is included
The entire device, the same you can see in the photographs including the USB-C power and data cable; except a micro SD card.
#### What makes it special?
The device is presented in a polished and finished way, in order to be used as a plug&play device.
In a single device you have SD card loading and internet via WiFi capabilities, in order to load software directly from HTTP addresses, or via custom servers; or to load them via the micro SD card.
#### Operation videos
In this first video, some of the internet capabilities are illustrated:
Such load software directly form a HTTP address, after this; the C64 is being connected to a BBS (Bulletin Board System) such CNN News, BBS News... there are also chat rooms available, among other features.
