What is it?

This Cartridge board enables the usage of REU RAM (up to 16 Megabytes) or GeoRAM (up to 4 Megabytes)

As well, you can load and execute .PRG based software, such games.

Now, using latest firmware, it can load .vsf files.

Vice Snapshots (.VSF image files)

These VSF-files can be created using the Vice emulator (use latest release!) and are similar to what freezer cartridges do: storing the current state of the computer. The RAD will restore the memory, VIC, SID, CIA, and CPU states from the stored VSF data (however, timers and CPU-VIC-sync are not restored absolutely accurate).

Keep in mind that snapshots have to be used with care: they work for C64s and C128s in C64-mode, but a C64-VSF might not work on a C128 and vice versa. Also, for example, if you snapshot a C64 in Vice and then load the VSF on a C64 with a different kernal ROM the machine might crash (ROMs are not replaced in the real machine).

In this way, you can create an image file of the port of Sonic The Hedgehod in a PC/MAC computer using Vice emulator, save a snapshot and load and use it thanks to the RAD REU unit.

Why did you make it?

This version is created to be completely assembled by handlabour, capacitors and resistances use through hole variant

Due to this the device is presented in two ways:

Assembled and non assembled (for enthusiasts who prefer to assemble components themselves)

Currently, only assembled version is available.

What makes it special?

It is designed for users that request DIY devices to assemble the components, as well, it is provided also as an assembled version.
