This is a somewhat whimsical and experimental kit in the shape of a bee that is annoyed by something.

The power source is a 5 farad supercapacitor which is charged from USB via a PCB-fabricated plug.

It uses through-hole components but soldered in a pseudo surface-mount style. This allowed me to keep the front of the board clean and uncluttered without visible solder joints.

A light dependent resistor on the board acts as a light or motion sensor. When the light falling on the sensor changes (such as a hand waving in front of the board) Angry Bee is triggered and plays a couple of in-character sound effects as well as angrily flashing its little red eyes. It uses a small moving-coil speaker so the sounds are reasonably loud and full.

A preset allows the sensitivity to be adjusted.

A clip and pin are provided so Angry Bee can be worn as a badge or alternatively it can be hung from a string.
