Read More…The P8X Game System is a retro-style open-source game console based on the Parallax Propeller microcontroller. The system is completely programmable for both video and audio outputs with default drivers for PAL, NTSC, VGA and sound chips emulation. The board design is completely through-hole to be easy to build for any hobbyists.
The console is based on a dual-chip design. One Propeller chip is completely dedicated to the graphics rendering and video signal generation. Another Propeller chip is dedicated to the main game logic and stereo sound generation. This unique design allows to develop games with unprecedented graphical details and complexity.
A simple to use, C-based, Integrated Development Environment (IDE) takes care of the build process leaving the developers free to concentrate on the game code and graphics without worrying about how to compile, link and upload programs. Advanced developers can write dedicated video and/or audio drivers to better suit the games needs.
Note: Basic soldering skills and electronic components knowledge are required to build this product. If you are unsure please ask before purchase.
